I'm frustrated just reading the play by play. Looks like we definitely should have taken this one

We should have. Did not finish. Frustrating. Lessons to be learned.

Just landed and saw the score
Gilder 2-10, Davis with only 5 shots? Yikes

It was bad. Completely gifted it to them
I need to keep remembering that ASU game last year and the fact this USC team is probably better than them

I... well not actually me, but the commentators, thought their zone prevented us from getting it inside much. TTM and Hogg made up for it until the last 3 minutes.
ETA: They're a legit good team. Still sucks, though.

I didn't see the game, so I can't comment too much, but i will remind everyone that we're not as good of a team as last year. The goal is to make the tournament.

I'll sum it up, we looked real good in the beginning but only because USC was shooting terribly, they hit something like 4 threes in a row to close it up before the break. We played great defense most of the 2nd period but in the last 5 minutes we were always a USC 3 away from a nail biter, and then they hit one. After that nothing went our way enough for us to pad our small lead and then they stole it in the very very end.

yea we were fortunate they missed so many early 3s. cant blame all our lack of Off on BK cause its tough to break down a D with only one legit guard (who is also struggling), but man that was some horrid offense we played the last 5 possessions. not a single touch by davis until the buzzer sounded. losing home games in shooty hoops is demoralizing

It was all "let's stand around the perimeter til the clock runs out guys"

I'm not sure what to think of this game. I've heard how much of a quality opponent USC is, yet we completely choked. It was "Sumlin-esque".

We choked, but it's the beginning of the season, lots of guys in new roles. Hogg looked good. And Hampton looked rough, point guard position is a serious issue.

Is the stream quality shitty for anyone else?

That last 5 minutes was beautiful basketball, 17-4 run.
EDIT: That turned in to a 27-4 run

That was a hell of a Josh Lomers impression.

Hogg has hit his stride. Was afraid the early fouls may disrupt his rhythm but didn't happen. We're in great hands with him and Tyler. Good to see Gilder steal a couple passes today that lead to easy buckets. He needed a game like this. Looking forward to tomorrow
Edit: Poor Tavario. It's clear he's our worst rotation player. Fortunately with the recent recruiting success we've had, we're not likely to see a player of his caliber on the floor for a loooong time. Great kid tho which is far more important in life than being good at a sport

Tavario reminds me in a way of Marlon Pompey. Plays hard, has fouls to give, but really not a threat to score.
