Not having to scalp for tickets

Best memory was when I went to the Heart of Dallas Bowl at the Cotton Bowl in 2013 w/a friend to see Okie Light obliterate Purdue.
Took DART light rail to the stadium, walked up to the first scalper I saw and the dude tried to sell us tickets for $100 each and claimed the stadium would be sold out. In reality it was 48k announced in a 90k stadium but I doubt it was even that high since I'd been there the the year before when Houston played Penn State (Pedo Bear game) in front of 46k announced and that looked much fuller. Anyway, I laughed in his face and said he wasn't getting more than $30 for two and I didn't care where they were b/c I knew we'd be able to sit pretty much wherever we wanted.
He said no he couldn't do that for a sell out so I asked another scalper 15 feet away if he had heard my offer. He nodded and said he'd sell us his two worst seats for $20. The first guy immediately tried selling up two on the 50 for $30. I laughed again b/c I knew how bad the lower bowl seats are (first 15ish rows you'll be looking at the backs of players due to the stadium configuration) and happily handed the second guy a twenty.
We then waltzed in right at kickoff and sat on the 40 w/a random group of Okies who had smuggled in some whiskey and were kind enough to pass it around so long as we bought them cokes to mix it with. Okie Light won the game 58-14.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconusaflagsmiley.gif)

SEC Tourney in Atlanta.
Lady had center court 3rd row with hospitality passes for the entire tourney. Offered her $300 per ticket for 4. She turned us down. Told us she "weren't no fool"! We started to walk away when my friend said, "Would you take $1,000?" "Hell yeah" she said.
We paid and ran.

My uncle used to send me around with 2 finger up when I was like 7-13 and we used to get free tickets to just about every game
got 2 for 50$ to lsu in 04 doing that. Most were from older people, and most always asked if I was really going in ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I've bought tickets to every LSU home game for the last few years for less than $40 per ticket by just walking around with 2 fingers in the air right before kick-off (including many that were handed to me for free). The exception being Alabama which was $75 per.
Take that for what it's worth.

I remember Saban's first year at Alabama (2007), after starting 3-0 with that miraculous last second win over Houston Dale's Hogs, I figured I could run down to Tuscaloosa to catch the game. A friend and I drove 3 hours to the game, tailgated all day asking around for tickets, and nobody had extras. We got to game time and there were literally no tickets around. Found one guy that wanted $300 per seat and we turned it down. Ended up watching the game in the Ferguson Student Center with about 200 students.

I had an extra ticket to one of the last Bama games at LF (Middle Tennessee in 2002?). Sold it for $5 + a student ticket.
