2013 OL
Kublanow 4*
Cardiello 3*
Bynum 3*
Welch 2*

2014 OL
Wynn 4*
Sims 4*
Baker 4*
Edwards 3*
Bonus- Gaillard (5* DT) recruited as DT but has worked his way to starting guard

2015 OL
Allen 4*
Madden 3*
Hardin 3*
Jurkovic 3*

2016 OL

Cleveland 4*
Barnes 3*
Kindley 3*
Catalina *?

Catalina is missing from 247 signing classes...

17 total offensive linemen.

Only 6 were rated 4 stars or higher.

Before you say stars are meaningless... Look at who the 4 stars are above and look at our starting line. There is a direct correlation.

Now, if I go run these numbers for Ole Miss, Bama, Tenn, LSU... are they going to have more, less,or same # of 4* offensive linemen on their rosters right now?

To follow up and show a recruiting difference..

Right now Kirby has 3 OL commits rated 4* in the 2017 class.

If that's all he signs, 2017 and 2018, he'll have the same amount of 4*'s that Richt left him with after 4 classes.

In four years, he'll have 12 4* OL to field a 5 man line with, double what he has to work with right now.

Really hurts that Allen didn't pan out as a tackle, and has been moved to guard if I'm not mistaken, and that Baker isn't good enough to beat out a RI grad transfer. If those two guys had turned out to be solid bookend starters, we would be set.

Unfortunately, it's going to take a couple of years to fix that OL.

Yep, our class rankings over the years have been skewed by skill players. Our recruiting in the trenches, where it counts most, was less than stellar during Richt's tenure.

I googled and found nothing as far as a recruiting rating. I did find that he had one of those jiffy rig NCAA recruiting profiles that 65% of high schoolers (including my son) make for themselves. I'm guessing he wasn't rated by recruiting services as a senior in Mass?

You guys are trying way, way too hard to convince yourselves that we didn't screw up. You've labelled 3/4ths of the team a bust in the last few days, made every excuse in the book to avoid saying that Kirby hasn't done a good job. Face it, he's done a bad job. It's undeniable.

Maybe Smart will learn quickly and become Saban 2.0. But the fact is that Saban paid his dues for a long time. Smart is a rookie and there's a very high chance that he'll take this program back to the early 90's. That's the risk you take when you get impatient and fire a good man and a good coach who won 10 a year for his entire career, and also for the last 5 years, in case anyone is tempted to say he was trending down.

The fan base wanted to throw that away and bet it all on a get rich quick long shot. So, most likely, we're going back to 1989 and relive 7 years of bad football. Relax, let Chef Leppard back on the board to regale you with his tales of depravity, link some good music on youtube, and celebrate when we beat Georgia Tech every couple of years. No need to make 18 year old kids the scapegoats for our mistake.

Hard to say actually. You would think they would have more. But, LSU and Tennessee's lines might be playing worse than ours, wouldn't you say?

I agree that the star system is not perfect, but as a whole it does a good job. You did a lot of work to put that together. Thanks! It was interesting.
