That can't be right? Coaches hot seat website still has him ranked 5th.

What if he joins Saban's staff in some capacity?

Nick Saban is now has the longest tenure in the SEC. Just goes to show how college football has changed. I don't know if I here are any coaches left in the P5 ( Dantinio maybe ). That have been at their school as HC longer than 10 years

2012: 6-2 SEC
2013: 5-3 SEC
2014: 4-4 SEC
2015: 5-3 SEC
2016: 1-1 SEC
~39-16 Overall (21-13 SEC)
How many people could do worse? LSU would end the season.. at best.. 4-4 in the SEC bringing his total record to like 24-16 in the SEC over the previous 4 seasons.

Ah you can already sense the fear in Bama fans now that Miles, their easy W coach each year, is gone
no fear here. just looking forward to the entertainment value of flight aware tracking, reports of wives real estate shopping in baton rouge, lots of "insider info," all of the done deals, a thousand reasons as to why gruden would want to return to college football, etc, etc it's going to be fun.

for once i legitimately haven't seen a single post about Gruden
Big names seem to be Herman, Fisher, Dabo. Besides those.. I'd really like to see us get a guy like Brohm from WKU

Now, I'll admit I embellished a bit there, but you and I both know that if the replacement doesn't start producing up to expectations in pretty short order, we'll be in the same situation inside of a few more years.
I'll repeat what I said last night. I'm not saying LSU shouldn't have fired Miles. I even agree that it's probably time. I just urge the fans to temper their expectations a bit, and prepare yourselves for the eventuality that it goes really fricking badly.
Coaching searches are simultaneously exciting and fricking terrifying.
