I now realize why I've never been and why I don't plan on going back.
They're charging $1.99 for a 12 ounce can of Miller High Life. I ain't about that life.
I had no plans on buying the Miller High Life. I just saw ridiculous prices. Everything was a dollar or two more here.
Piss on them. Rant over.

What city are you in?
Seems all groceries have been jackin their food prices the past 3 - 5 years.
I think Whole Foods is along the Fresh Market strategy for marketing to more affluent neighborhoods. Kroger is heading that way on a bigger scale. Publix is still good and Piggly Wiggly has ancient stores but lower prices.

Only thing worth going there for is their pizza. It's actually some of the better pizza in town. 2 huge slices at lunch for around $6. not bad.

Makes sense with Huntsville next door, they want that rocket scientist disposable income.

Whole foods has really good six pack options. Lots of variety that you can't really find other places and they are typically under $10.
The growler bar is cool. Fill up a growler and drink tasty draft beer at home.
I like the hot food you can order. Tacos, burgers, pizza, ect. I live 2 blocks away from a Whole Foods so several times a month I just walk there and get dinner. It's a convenience thing.

Do they have a Lucky's in Huntville?
You can get beer in there to drink while you are shopping. They also have some damn tasty bacon.

I highly doubt rock scientists drive from Huntsville to Mountain Brook.

Funny you say that. I know two guys that actually commute from Liberty Park to Huntsville every week. One of them is a missile scientist.
I don't go to that Whole Foods much as their prices are crazy. However, if you are looking for some hard to find food items, it's the place to go on this side of town. I will say that their pizza along with their premade pizza dough are both delicious and well worth the money.

Whole Foods is absurdly expensive. About the only thing I'm willing to pay the extra for is their bakery items.
We have a local chain named Rainbow Blossom that's much cheaper. And anymore Kroger has started carrying enough in their natural foods section that I don't really have to waiver from there unless it's for Costco/bulk stuff.

Have not had their sushi in awhile, but it used to be really good.

Just be happy you no longer live in the poor part of town.

It's mostly overpriced. But in some areas, you can't get dnt decent produce. I'm glad I'm in an area that has great, cheap produce collections. Sprouts is the shite (just don't buy anything on the shelves.
Colorado doesn't allow grocery stores or convenience stores to sell anything except 3.2% beer. So I never go to whole foods anymore. But in Nola, they always had a great selection of microbrews. That was about the only thing I'd buy from there.
