Lane Kiffin question

When was the last time Lane Kiffin has drove the field from his side of the field 20/25 (Not starting at the 50 yard line) yard line for a TD w/o a home run play (35+ yards)? Just a methodical drive 5 yards here 10 yards there and end in the end zone. Has it ever happened?

Fixed you happy now?

What Freshwater does so well is do the Bama 5 yard deal, but then exploit the D for a big play, set up by the Bama 5-yard deal. This is why Bama really turned the corner (offensively) under him. And he does it without going high-risk. Cause if he gets to cute, we've seen what Saban does to him.

Do you get penalized for home run plays now?

Did I say it was a negative thing? It was just a question I don't care how we score on a weekly basis they all could be special teams play...just wondering if Kiffin has ever done it because I can't remember it, and it could possible be a small problem if a team keeps everything in front of them and make Kiffin dink and dunk down the field.

Oh good lord. Really?
Are you seriously complaining about Kiffin creating explosive plays? Really?
If you simply must know, it looks like it would have been December 31, 2015 when Bama went 75 yards in 9 plays with the longest one being a 26 yard pass to Mullaney.
Before that, they went 83 yards in 9 plays against Auburn with the longest one being 14 yards.
What's it like to not remember things from only a few games ago?

We had an
9 play, 65 yard TD drive vs USC
11 play, 73 yard TD drive against LSU
9 play, 75 yard TD drive against Tennessee
8 play, 71 yard TD drive against Tennessee
9 play, 83 yard TD drive against Auburn
9 play, 75 yard TD drive against Michigan state
8 play, 75 yard TD drive against Clemson
And about 10 long FG drives in those 6-7 games too

the opening drive last weekend was a long one that ended in a short field goal.

He did with Henry. But i do know what you are saying. He is the best play caller of big plays, but 50% of his play calls are absolute shite.
STILL rather have him than anyone else, Enos is good though.

I wish the only thing we had to complain about was too many explosive plays.

quote:why do people keep saying this? Saban has explained how kiffin calls plays. The plays you complain about get called to get the defense thinking or looking where we want them to, then we use that look to bust a big play. If the play works the first time great, if the change to stop it we have affected what they are doing and can use that later. Unlike teams like ole miss we dont have to have some spectacular play every drive, we can play chess. How can anyone be complaining about our offense right now? we are off to the best offensive start to a season of any alabama team ever

Last year he also had the marathon drive with Henry to kill the clock against LSU.
I'm as critical of Lane as anyone because he loves the shotgun too much for my tastes and often gets too cute. But last year, he no doubt rode DJ on some long drives.

He had a 3 play, 85 yard drive against USC that was three runs. Was Damien Harris supposed to trip over the 50 yard line just so Kiffin could pad the play count?

Would've had one this past weekend if not for his QB missing a wide open throw.

Well, with just the offense last game, we lose by 21.

And he ran the comer against OleMissie for the reason being to wear out and spread the D. It worked.
He is the best at calling one play to set another play up.
