When you make it personal like attacking the area that USC senior defensive end Jabari Ruffin did to Alabama sophomore cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick, the apology’s got to match the crime.
No, Fitzpatrick will not get his own shot at Ruffin’s crotch, but Ruffin will write a personal apology letter, USC coach Clay Helton announced Sunday. Ruffin also will be suspended for the first half of his team’s next game against Utah State.

Good job Helton
Also, Adoree Jackson handled that thing as well as a teammate could and was pretty cool after the game. Respect to that kid.

The first half and write a letter? Way to really discipline those guys.

Can Ruffin write and can Fitzpatrick read?

first half what a joke
and, for the reocrd, I think Boutte should be suspended at least 2 games as well

I'm sure that'll teach him a lesson

I respect that. Les didn't do shot to that scumbag that took a cheap shop on the kid that intercepted a pass. That surprised me about Les!

The two incidents are not very comparable. Yeah...Fitzpatrick got stepped on down where you don't want to be stepped on. But it wasn't that hard of a stomp. The punishment fits the crime IMO.
Boutte on the other hand....he could have seriously hurt that guy. That was a vicious, flagrant hit. The fact that no punishment is coming to him is unforgivable.

how do you know this as fact? because it's sunday and you haven't been informed of it yet? and if he isn't suspended, i will also think it's a joke, as i've already said. So what are you trying to tell me? That I'm right?

The last thing I saw the team council you guys have voted for Boutte not to receive punishment.

you know that thread was a joke right? the only thing that's actually been released is that Les is going to review the tape and that Boutte told him it wasn't intentional.

I mean, he stepped on our dudes nuts and this seems like a reasonable outcome to me.

I'll allow this.
By writing a letter, he will remember this for a while. Hopefully, he'll play smarter next time.
Plus, he should get about extra credit for it in English 101.

Isn't being suspended for the first half of the next game part of the NCAA rule if a player is ejected?

Never go for another man's junk.
