Saban is not stupid. When you become the Texas coach you have to kiss to much booster behind and the one thing that Saban does not do is kiss jocksniffer behind.

The only way he would have gone was for total control of football operations which meant that he would need control of the "street money" for "operational expenses" and if anyone knows Texas football, that ain't happening.

If Texas really wanted him, he would be there. Alabama cannot touch UT money....they really can't

I'll try to explain it to you just like I tried to explain it to people I knew from Texas back when all this went down. You're right, Texas could spend more money on football than Alabama. However, Alabama will spend more money on football then Texas. A subtle, yet crucial, distinction, and the reason why Saban still wears Crimson.

Im just curious what you think that Texas could offer that Alabama cant. I mean I think its great that Saban turned down more money because he loves being at Alabama but not sure where you are getting this.

Total bullshite. In football, Bama can match anyone. basketball no. Football yes. Bama was ready, able and willing to pony up 10 mill a year but we didnt have to because Bama doesnt take a backseat to Tejas or anybody else. Bama is a blueblood, second to none facilities, support, ability to recruit with unlimited resources and a name that rivals anyone.

Second, if Saban really wanted to BE AT TEXAS, he would be there. TODAY, this very day, Saban can have any job in America high school, college or pro he wants and yes, LSU would run off Miles in a nano second if Saban made one phone call saying he wanted to come back and if you dont believe that you are living in fantasy land. He could have that job this very day as we speak.
