I want to. I hear him saying that we've not named a starter yet "and thats a good thing". I hear him going full posibarner after the scrimmage, but I'm wondering how much down deep inside he's shitting his pants over the QB situation.
I want to believe you, Gus.

He knows the QB situation is as fricked as we do.

Are we having good practices?

Posted this last year but here is a Gus recap on every practice before and during the season: "I like where we are. We are showing a lot of energy. We are having good practices. I like the effort. All (insert number of QBs on team) of them are capable of running our offense. Defensively, I like our effort. Lot of energy. Good practice. I like where we are (same response to a different question asked by the media). We are flying around. Effort. Good practice".
Feel free to copy and paste this to all of the "updates" with the media. This will save you a great deal of time reading any al.com articles, blog reports, and any other online sites.

Unfortunately this is true.

Keep in mind Gus is still learning. He was a high school head coach, college offensive coordinator, and head coach at Arkansas State before coming to AU. At no other point during his career has he been under the same level of scrutiny. In addition to the pressures of being a coach at one of the Big 6 in the SEC, add Saban's success at Bama, the magic of his first season, and last year's woes and you have incredible pressure.
Gus is still trying to figure it out. Let's see how our offense looks this year and if he's going back to a more "hands on" role instead of the CEO role he mentioned he took last year.

We are screwed and I hope Jay Jacobs is calling up Jimmy Rane to shell out for Tom Herman.

Yeah, because he's had one good season as a head coach so he's bound to be better than Malzahn.

I think most of us do. I want Gus to be the answer, partially because I like him and his personality and partially because AU needs the stability.
But I think most of the negabarners and a lot of the independents just don't have any faith in Gus right now. I'm in that camp. And in truth, I think Gus is a good coach, I think he can lead this program back, and I think he's a good offensive mind. But we haven't seen it lately, and there is just too much similarity between this preseason and last year's season at the moment.
Hopefully actual football will provide the hope we're looking for.

More like call up Jimmy Rane to be on the committee to find Jay's successor.

This is exactly it.
We know he can do it with the right QB, but I expect him to break out this year with a balanced offense that we can maintain more realistically than finding Cam or NM every year. He has said that defense will be important too which is an important leap from being an OC to a winning HC.

Agreed. I like Gus and I believe his ethos jibes very well with Auburn as a whole. But I'm afraid Howdy Doody's inability to develop QB's is going to be Gus' undoing. Lashley is a big time liability
