I don't know where but Auburn's Bo Jackson and Brent Fulwood should be on the list as well as LSU's Kevin Faulk and Cecil Collins. Both should be on this list somewhere.

It's Caddy and Ronnie and DMC/Felix in some order. I'll take the Arkansas group because McFadden was the best of the four. Caddy and RB had the least drop off from 1 to 2, so they might technically be the strongest "duo" ...
Way too early for the LF/Guice talk until Guice puts up some more numbers.

To me it's all DMAC and Felix. Both so damn explosive. Was fun to watch. Especially the Wildcat with those 2.

Can we count Nick Marshall as a running back? Because him and Mason were about as unstoppable a rushing duo as I've ever seen in college football.

Not this century but Cobb/Webb was a great duo.

Chubb/Gurley 2014 is UGA's best:
342 carries

7.19 ypc
23 tds
for some reason people seem to have overlooked these stats, which are the best posted in the thread so far.

So two top 5 NFL draft picks are third on your list?
Meh, they were drafted on potential which they clearly didn't live up to. They were good in college but nowhere near as good as these other guys and it's not even close

I think McFadden and Felix were cut from the same cloth. Either one of them could take it all the way literally any time they touched the ball. McFadden is one of the greatest in SEC history, but Felix had better YPC numbers.

Agreed.
392 carries
2087 yards
5.3 ypc
20 TDs

you obviously know WAY more about them than I do, but I don't really see that. From my memory, DMac was like a Gurley that could stiff arm you, juke you, or just run really fast past everyone. Could basically do everything possible. Felix was more like the make one cut and turn on the jets. Almost like a souped up version of keith marshall.

I thought they were completely different type of runners. McFadden was punishing but I remember Felix being a little more elusive.
I loved watching McFadden run (except when he was running all over us)!

That is a fair summary but Felix could make them missed when he had to as well. Oh and DMac could pass.

quote:Yep one will go down as one of the most talented RB's in SEC history (Gurley), and more than likely one of the best in NFL history as well. The other 3 will all be in the NFL with Chubb probably turning into a star himself. Michel and Marshall have a very good chance to be starters or better.
Gurley/Chubb/Michel/Marshall was the GOAT

I love UGA but this is just not accurate. Keith Marshall won't ever find a place in the NFL other than a 3rd down guy or maybe a kick returner. I'd actually be surprised if he ever gets regular carries, wouldn't shock me if he's out of the league in 3 years. Michel is a dynamic college player but I don't ever see him being a starter in the NFL. Solid backup for sure though. I can see Chubb doing well.

I also don't see the 'souped up version of keith marshall' in regards to Felix. K Marshall (4.31) posted faster times than both McFadden(4.33) and Felix(4.47).
Did P Hillis even get much carries for you guys? I remember seeing him line up at TE some and was a beast.

I know it is a little cliche but Felix seemed to run much faster than that with the football. I'm not saying he was faster than Marshall but that 4.47 doesn't seem right.

In most years he got about 60 carries a year and avg 4.7 per carry throughout his career. He was solid just too many good backs in that group.
