I learned that passes will be good for extra hours of operation during the first 40 days and 40 nights.

Just thought I'd let you Kentuckians know you can get some extra bang for your buck.

That Ken Ham guy is all in, isn't he?

I think I'll enjoy God's wonders by visiting Mammoth Cave or the Natural Bridge at Red River Gorge instead.

I just don't see a scenario where I go see this thing. Kentucky has one of the best and most extensive state park systems in the country. Plenty of great ways to spend quality family time in the Bluegrass.

They created their own wine list. Really it was enough, no reason to evolve beyond that.

This is where I'll spend my tour money this fall. The Old Taylor Distillery Company, abandoned for 45 years, is undergoing a $7 million renovation and will reopen as Castle & Key in the Fall.

Production of bourbon will resume next month. Two investors purchased the 83-acre site in 2014 for $950,000 and are turning it into a showcase distillery. I'm sure it will be added to the Bourbon Trail since it's the site where bourbon tourism originated in the 19th century.

Y'all come.

Did the Bourbon Trail last fall. Great trip, and the perfect time of the year to go.

It's a must see after the Ark. I hear they have the exact recipe of bourbon Noah's daughter used to intoxicate Noah with in order to lay with him.

I think it was Lot's daughters who slipped him some Maker's Mark and slept with him.

Funny anyway.

Which stop was your favorite?

I liked Buffalo Trace, Yellow Rose(actual distillery, didn't go to bottling facility), and Maker's Mark. Hard to pick a favorite of those 3 because I liked them all for different reasons.

The drive out to Woodford was one of the prettiest drives I've ever done. We got there just as the last tour had left, so didn't do the tour there. Only one we missed on the actual trail.

We also went to Willet and 1792 while there. I think Willett is on the craft trail, not sure about 1792.

Woodford is my favorite tour. Beautiful inside the distillery as well as the drive through the Bluegrass like you mentioned.

Nobody in our group of 4 was all that disappointed at missing Woodford, but it was like our 4th or 5th stop that day and everyone was pretty beat and a bit drunk. We were staying an hour or so away as well, so everyone was just ready to get back to the house and eat supper.

Now that I think about it, I think Four Roses was my favorite. Loved their story of being a rotgut bourbon back in the day, and I liked how their entire distilling process was housed in one building. So it was easy to see the process. And I had never had the single barrel, which I fell in love with. I've probably gone through 5 or 6 bottles of it since that tour back in October.

Yeh Four Roses has definitely fought to earn a respectable reputation around here. I'm not fond of much of theirs outside of the single barrel. They have a reserve that is expensive but very smooth as well.
