Coley doin' werk...

Pretty excited about the notable decision to go after WRs with good size advantage. If you're going to have a balanced to slightly run-heavy game plan, having some legit deep threats and red zone targets is critical for offensive success. Kid looks to have some great film on HUDL as well.

Didn't UGA have a ton of 6'3'' plus kids the last couple of years? I feel like in 2014 or something they had a ton of injuries and all the injured guys were 6'2'' plus

We have a few that are 6'2 but that's about as tall as it gets for us at the moment. We don't really have a jump ball group. We have speedy guys like Mckenzie, Davis and Godwin at the moment with Chigbu being our big body guy.

This season we have 2 commitments from guys that are tall (Xavier Jenkins and Matt Landers).

There was 1 WR, I think his first name was Malcolm (maybe Malcolm Brown) who chose UGA over OSU. I thought he was 6'3'' or 6'4'' (maybe kid already went through his 4 years then i will feel older than i already do)

Disappointing for Florida as he was one of our plan B guys thought we could pull last minute since he was flying under the radar. Good get for y'all as I really like his upside

Maybe Marlon Brown? From TN? Yeah his last year was 2014...maybe? If I remember he was a 4 star but didn't ever really pan out. Seems to be a decent pro player though.

Not really. Most of them have come in between 5'11"-6'1"
Chris Conley was 6'2"+
Michael Bennett was 6'3", but white, so that's like minus a couple of inches.

I think as mentioned Marlon Brown was a pretty big guy but didn't really develop while he was here. Hands like steel bricks it felt like a lot of the time.

Rumph was a Juco get that was 6'5" but struggled with injuries. We've really been lacking on the "jump-ball" and "fade route" receivers, which I think has directly contributed to redzone difficulties. (Lot of 3pt drives instead of 7)

Could put some of that on Lambert last season and Mason the year before, as neither were known for deeper passing accuracy, but even with Murray the fact that he had to spread the ball around so much was pretty indicative of the lack of elite talent at the WR spot, and I would put a good portion of that on not having many true size advantage matchups.

If the emphasis on recruiting WR size is in place, then your Godwin/IMac/Drob type receiver is able to either a) operate out of the slot or WR2 spot and wreak havoc as a possession guy with potentially way more YAC or b) the defense has to shift more coverage to the speedy versatile receiver allowing the big guy(s) to go out and make jump ball catches further down field. It adds a dimension to the offense that UGA has really lacked over the last 4 seasons IMO.
