Or are you referring to the easily fakeable texts that we have no clue are real or not?

Reading some comments here and there, apparently it is.
I felt bad for the kid. You can argue whether he's been taken advantage of or a victim of his own devices but when Roger fricking Goodell comes out and says it's good entertainment for the draft, it's pretty clear that even the NFL was eating up his downfall. That's fricking pitiful.

Whether the act of smoking has been properly designated as illegal is completely irrelevant to this discussion.
Do you really not understand that?

Obviously attacked via social networking. Twitter and Instagram "hacked" (lack of a better term). Old video is posted to damage his rep mere minutes before the draft.
He smoked up knowing it would be a cost if caught, so no. He is not a victim. He made a decision and now he has to live with it. We all make mistakes. but we all have to suffer the consequences if said decisions go sideways. He is now suffering consequences. I can feel for the guy....like I said, we all make mistakes and make poor decisions.

No, just breaking the law. Bad things happen when breaking the law.
I know many people/students smoke weed, but they didn't stand to lose 8 million in one night due to their actions.

It actually is very relevant. Events like this create discussion on legalizing marijuana. I don't know how you can't grasp that concept.

But it really is. Players are drafted highly all the time after being arrested for underage drinking or violence. But because of the timing of this and the fact that it's marijuana, it's a huge fricking outrage.
Tunsil is victim of acting like a college kid in college. Big fricking deal.

But the legalization of marijuana is not at all the discussion.
What are you reading?
This discussion is about whether Tunsil is a victim for allowing a recording that he knew would create all kinds of controversy if ultimately released. Whether it should create controversy is completely irrelevant.

You're missing the main point; that someone deliberately went out of their way to attempt to hurt him.
You ever been drunk and acted dumb in high school or college? Let's say you're applying for a job, get an interview, and show up to said interview and the first thing that happens is your employer mentions they received an anonymous email with a link to a video of you underage drinking and acting like a dumbass. They still want to hire you, but your offer is now 30% less.
Would you still feel the same?

I think the amount of attention and derision he's been receiving is pretty disproportionate for his actions. He's not the only bigtime college player in the draft who smoked weed and took money.
I won't lie, seeing how Ole Miss fans are reacting to it is entertaining but this kid was ready for a great signing day and got bamboozled at the last second. It sucks for him.

I broke the law when I jaywalked across the street yesterday. Also drove 5mph over the speed limit. Oh and then I picked up this plant and lit it on fire and just happened to inhale the fumes.

I'm sure Tunsil knew he would lose 8 million dollars due to that video. He should have been Mormon-esque his entire college career.

Yeah, I would say anytime the content of someone's private life is maliciously aired in public they are a victim, and more so when it messes with their livelihood.
I understand what you are saying, but.....if you knowingly do things that will cost you money and damage your livelihood it is your own fault. He broke the law (Never mind if you agree with the law or not) and apparently broke rules he agreed to abide by. The players that go by the rules and obey the laws would be victims if he is allowed to get away with it. I am NOT condoning the guy posting stuff all over social media, but in this day and age it is a very real possibility.

No he paid the price for a decision he made to film a stupid act. Many people have done the same and if the don't pass on the accountability like you are trying to do. They can learn and grow from it. He's no victim.
I felt some sympathy for him, but he made those choices freely.

Yes it is, that is what I just brought up. A lot of folks point is that this affects people far too greatly, and it shouldn't. I'm not trying to be a dick, but you need to look at this from another angle. The whole "well IT IS illegal" is a sheep mentality.
The real point is that someone deliberately tried to hurt him over doing something completely harmless, and it worked. That's the discussion plenty are having in this thread, but you're too stubborn to even allow yourself to be engaged.

Not at all missing the point.
In no way is he a victim.
As another poster said he made a mistake. It shouldn't (and won't) cost him his career but he'll have to endure the consequences of that mistake.
That's all.
Certainly no victim.

And you make a valid point. But if somebody had told you they would give you 8 million dollars if you did not smoke weed or break some rules while you were in college would you say, "No thanks."?

He didn't know the amount, but he had to know it would cost him money if it came out. You can't assume stuff will not come out today. He allowed himself to be filmed do it.

He's a victim of a society who has demonized something as harmless as getting stoned with your buddies in college. If you can't see that, then you're a soulless bastard and you need to reevaluate how you view the world and the people in it. Honestly, you're stubborn as frick.
