Isn't that what we did during this draft?

Seriously though, why do we always embarrass ourselves?

Can't we just get Tunsil to say I wasn't clear on what the question was and then just deny deny deny? I love having Freeze as our coach.

Was Freeze around when Laquan or Rob got drafted? I'm guessing he got out of there and was doing damage control.

I seriously doubt that any new information was revealed last night that hasn't already been checked into

It was like getting a colonoscopy aired on ESPN during a time of its highest viewership. If Freeze were in a room with his pants to his knees, bent over a table and a rod shoved up his arse with a light and camera mounted projecting an image of his shite up his arse on a monitor in the room and a reporter just walked in on him, it wouldn't have been worse.

Freaking this....it's not hard to say "I was confused and overwhelmed and wasn't clear on the question"

Can't believe that hasn't been released yet..Sexton what the heck are you doing?????

Once the genie is out of the bottle it is not possible to put it back. He could make a statement but the damage is done.

Seriously. He was obviously confused/overwhelmed. Put out a release right now that he didn't fully understand the question. Don't have to lie or say anything else. Its still going to look bad, but giving a spin a shot certainly wouldn't hurt. Not saying anything makes everything worse.

I seriously disagree "I didn't hear the question and thought it was about the bong."

Someone pointed out on another board that even Pat Forde didn't think this would have much effect on the investigation.

Sure, it will be vetted, but some (fake) screenshots and vague/confused answers at a press conference in the heat of the moment won't open the flood gates as some are saying.

It's a Friday and it's the topic du jour

It's better to take a day and get their ducks in a row than for everyone to start slinging out bullshite. You see how one extemporaneous answer at a presser to a question that probably wasn't well understood has been like absolute wild fire.

I don't think the admin here is corrupt, and I quite like the new chancellor. He seems like the kind of guy who isn't going to tolerate a lot of shenanigans, which means whatever the AD and coaches say next better be on point and explain exactly what the hell this is all about if they want jobs going forward.

I've said a lot of harsh things about Ole Miss over the years, but in general, it's a pretty cool place to work and has a lot more going for it than people outside of MS will probably ever recognize. I've enjoyed being here so far. That being said, the Good Ole Boy Network surrounding football here has to be some of the dumbest blowhards in college athletics, at least when it comes to football.

There is so much overreaction going on here, just do not worry about it.

The NCAA has been all over Tunsil for 3 years, what happened last night will not change anything. For all we know, it could be included in the NOA currently.

If it is not, they are not going to open up an investigation again. They have enough for their witch hunt and it is time to move on.

Can yall relax shite's not that bad. Tunsil has been scrutinized all along by the NCAA. And we already sat him out for 7 games last year. If something new about a player that had never been addressed came up that would be real news to get rustled about.

The fact that Tunsil received money isn't worrisome, the NCAA likely already knew that. What's worrisome is that either our coaches, or a director of operation paid Tunsil. If ts a rogue booster, we can do damage control and move on. If its the coaching staff and the director of operations paying players, that lack of institutional control and widespread issues

There's a big "if" as to if the messages are real. And there may even be an explanation if Tunsil was getting Pell/Special Assistance Fund money, as it is common to go to an assistant AD for it, and it can be used for rent purposes as well as helping out family with some expenses. As long as its approve by compliance, the Asst AD can disperse the money.

Or at least this is what I'm telling myself anyway.

If the texts are real, the spin is legit. The way the texts play out, it could fit into the fund. We better have the paper trail if real or it might become a bigger issue.

Pivey, it is on a private Ole Miss board. I sure will find a version of it over at ED.
