I really think the rain helped,us.

No, that 20 mph wind blowing towards Home plate helped more than anything. LSU hit plenty of long shots that would have been HR's on a normal day. Good win though.

I cant help but wonder at what point in the season do teams stop dogpiling after wins over LSU? I think sooner rather than later. because this LSU squad isn't that good, compared to some of their past teams.

but...but...your LSU team, they aren't that good bro. not compared to past LSU teams. not compared to the badasses in the SEC this year.

LSU's pitcher tonight seems to hate batters.
4 innings, 3 HBP.
Is Poche a sociopath?

None of our returning pitchers are anywhere close to what they were last year.

Right now? No they are not, but you must be new to baseball being that Ole Miss shows signs of life you most likely just signed on.
The season is long and LSU is loaded with talent. IF CPM gets them right and hot at the right time it would be way better than last year in which they were hot all year except for the post season.
This will fall for LSU, current 18 base hits and ZERO runs for today. That is not normal......

They're still ranked #8 in the country.

I always rmember back to 2008. LSU was looking meh for the first few weeks. People were upset with PM. LSU loses on the road to Ole Miss. I think it was 2 games to one. Next week we tie UGA to split the series. After that we won 23 straight wearing nothing but our yellow game jerseys. It was started off by a few position changes. PM brought in Nola to play SS in place of either DJ LeMaihu or Hollander. DJ was moved to 2nd, Tyler Hanover was brought in at 3rd, and Mikey Mahtook was brought into centerfield. Landry, who struggled much of the Ole Miss series started to make web gem catches week after week in left field. Clark ended the season with 32 HR's and Blake Dean wasn't too far behind him.
That team leaned on Freshmen all the rest of the season
Catcher - Gibbs
Centerfield - Mahtook
Left field - Landry
3rd base - Hanover
SS - Austin Nola
2nd - DJ
Bottom line is it only takes a few swings to change the season.

I have followed Rebel baseball since 2nd grade, when Jake Gibbs took Ole Miss to the CWS in 1972. and I would wager that the average random LSU baseball fan wouldn't be nearly as fanatical about the Tigers, had they suffered through the lean years Ole Miss fans have had to endure. but since 2000, my team has more than held its own in a hard hitting SEC...I know baseball every bit as much as you do.
