Missouri post season ban in basketball.

And refusal to take part in the post season for football this year (even though they were offered a bowl game).
I can see the Basketball aspect, but we still lose money on them not taking part in the SEC Tourney this year and have to restructure the whole thing around them (only 13 participants this year instead of the full 14). That is OK, I guess.
But, considering that our conference shares its money between equal members, the football aspect doesn't make sense.
We added these guys to contribute and they have now failed to do so in both sports...in the same year.
Can someone better explain this, because I honestly don't really keep up with their sports.
What is that University doing right now? Glad they are here, but still...?
And I know that they have a bad record in Basketball this year, but what if they actually had a good one? They would have further screwed the SEC if so by not participating in either the NIT or Tournament.

Really wish we wouldn't have got another ole miss

Pretty sure they'll be penalized financially for missing the tourney due to rules violations.

Good for the SEC then (didn't realize a financial penalty). They should, really. Auburn and Tennessee have to play early and leave another team hanging (Vandy?) because of that.

Are you complaining about money? You have multiple universities that dont carry their weight financially when compared to Mizzou. This thread is dumb. You have two teams in Mississippi for fricks sake and you are worried about Mizzou?

And an auburn fan talking crap about anyone?...

Sorry that a historically bad time in Mizzou history coincided with joining the SEC.
Just keep sending the checks!

I don't think Mizzou would have made any money by participating in a shitty bowl. Probably would have lost money. Smart move on their part. There are too many shitty bowls.

Exactly. At least Missouri had the decency to show a little humility during their NCAA investigation and voluntarily propose a postseason ban unlike some SEC West programs.

After the whole BLM movement, they should have been sent back to the Big12. Hell, Iowa St would have been more substantial to add to the SEC

They actually participate.
That is what I am saying.
You would never hear of those "multiple" teams turning down a post season invitation (football, in this case) just because their program "didn't feel like it" at the time. That is what the University of Missouri did.
It unfortunately affects us all. Add to it your current basketball fiasco, and the whole conference has to deal with it in some way (in this case, the SEC Tournament)...all in one year.

Those two teams in Mississippi aren't on post season bans in Football and Basketball in 2016.
They both went to Bowls and are playing this week in the SEC Tournament.

So Mizzou football is on a post season ban?
You're a schmuck. The whole premise of the thread is about Mizzou pulling its weight financially and yet there are quite a few members who dont bring nearly what Mizzou brings to the table in revenue generation through media rights.
You dont like it tough shite. Im proud of the program for not going to some shite bowl game. Good for them.
You just need to suck it up buttercup. Only team that has national brand in your neck of the woods likes houndstooth. You just need to sit back in the middle of nowhere alabama and thank Mizzou for bringing the KC and St Louis TV markets.
You're welcome.

Missouri has already been to more SEC championship games than both those schools combined.
This thread is dumb
You are dumb.

Your University literally banned yourselves from post season play in football in December of 2015 (even though you didn't have to at all).
Your University was extended an invitation to take part in a Bowl game. Your University stated that they chose not to go for "personal reasons".
Why? You let the SEC down by not accepting that invitation...but we survived.
"We" set a historical bowl record in going 8-2 with or without you guys. Would have been nice to have had Missouri contributing in those statistics, but you guys had other plans, I suppose.
What is going on with Missouri athletics? Do you guys truly hate the SEC?

I don't really think your KC or St Louis markets are really making that much of a difference right now.
Let's be honest with ourselves.
It is going to be really hard to fill your stadiums/arenas/baseball fields/soccer field(s)/tennis courts/aquatics centers/track facilities with sec fans for a really long time. ESPECIALLY if you guys keep going down the road that you are going.
Get better, please. Stop making these bad decisions.
