Calls them out directly for refusing to meet face to face, for making demands that are illegal under state and federal law, and generally flying in the face of the legacy folks like MLK intended. Good stuff. Better late than never.

About time...

Mizzou should've held their ground from the start.

How much you want to bet this change in attitude was driven by a change in the dollars coming in?

mizzou fired pinkel but then stupidly hired him to stick around, guess he's a good reminder of what failure to lead looks like.

I'm very happy with the actions of this week. Firing Melissa Click, then following up with a proper scolding of the protesters. By people they can't claim are racist, even! I am not a fan of Mike Middleton, but it seems he has committed, at least somewhat, to doing his interim job effectively for the best interests of the University despite his own leanings.

I would guess that reasonable people of color, who truly want to see progress made in racial relations and equality, are not appreciative of this sideshow. CS1950 has taken it too far, as I expected they would, and are harming the actual cause. For those who only want strife, publicity and money...sorry.

Good. Mizzou needs to shed their cuck status and get with the program. Allowing yourself to be hijacked by a bunch of student faux activists shouldn't be acceptable.

Props to Mizzou in beginning the process.

ETA:

Frick that, may those people burn in eternal hell for this demand

Additions: A statue of Lloyd Gaines placed at Mel Carnahan Quadrangle, $6,000 put toward social justice centers and $250,000 toward an expansion of the Gaines Oldham Black Culture Center.

Are they serious?

3. “We demand that by the academic year 2017/2018, the University of Missouri increases the percentage of black faculty and staff campuswide to 10%.” Additions: "Targeted hiring" of more black faculty for the purpose of proving that the University "values black scholars."

Man, a first year Con Law class would put an end to most of these idiots' bantering.

It was pretty hard to be associated with this university last fall. I'm just glad that this whole saga is finally trending in the right direction.
