No, I wasn't cruising Fullerton message boards to see how they felt about losing their baseball coach.
They came here. One could argue it was just sour grapes but the long-time fullerton/lsu fan on here had the same sentiments and he's pretty levelheaded.
Besides, it's not like he was very successful at Fullerton (at least not towards the end). They were on a downward slide when he left.

Not a UT fan, but I must say the kid is a great athlete with a high ceiling. I can't help but root for him.

I do think Dobbs could make it as a WR in the NFL. He is a very, very good athlete.

Could be sour grapes. Whether he is a "good coach" is pretty subjective I guess, but him taking Irvine to a CWS for the first time in a while and then taking Fullerton too would suggest to me that he is a pretty good coach. As has been mentioned, he hasn't had the arms here that he could get out in California.
From the few games I watched last year, he also tried to force the issue on the base paths. The point is that what he is doing isn't working and it doesn't look like he will get things turned around. Todd Raleigh left a bad situation, but he has had time to fix it or at least show progress.

Thought he was supposed to join when he arrived. IIRC, baseball was a part of his recruitment. I guess with his class load it was too much during the acclimation period.
Anyhoo good for Dobbs. Should help out our mythological baseball team.

Is he better at baseball?
If he is it's probably a smart decision since he has no future in football in the NFL.

Elite athlete, great mind, great QB and leader...
...very average thrower of the football.
Good for him.

Ignoring the fact that you're in yet another Tennessee thread, I would let Kathy Ireland kick me in the balls

shite, looks like he'll have to fall back on his aerospace engineering degree now if his baseball career doesn't pan out. You can only hope the kid can manage to succeed.

I swear if he gets hurt. I will kill something.

This makes 0 sense. Dobbs would have been the equivalent of a unranked baseball prospect coming out of HS by perfect game. He's about to be a Sr. starting QB on a team that should make Atlanta and they/he is going to risk himself playing baseball after 3 years off. If I was a Tennessee fan I would be livid.
The terrible overall roster that Serrano is trotting out this year he might be a good option to play who knows. But with his small ball style it would be pretty rough to see him call for a bunt and Dobbs get hit on the hand by one of these super talented SEC pitchers.

I love ripping on Tennessee but gotta give Dobbs props...he's a go getter.

It's pretty clear that football has never been Dobbs' number 1 priority. Still extremely happy to have him.
