Where do you rank the 2015 Alabama Football team?

When you compare it with Saban's other national championship teams at Alabama?
Some might say it's the weakest but I might disagree with that notion. I saw where someone posted that this was the most difficult schedule college football has seen (in terms of opponent win-loss record/winning percentage) since 1978 when Notre Dame played just as tough a schedule and went 9-3.
Alabama wasn't as dominant this year, perhaps, due to the fact that the competition was tougher than in years past. I also get the sense that this particular team just so happens to be Saban's favorite since his arrival due to the fact that every player on the team bought into his philosophy and put the team before themselves.
That string of victories the team put together from that mid-September loss to Ole Miss onward was among the most impressive runs I can remember as an Alabama fan.

As good as the Alabama front 7 was, I have to wonder if it might have been even better...had Jonathan Taylor been able to steer clear of trouble. Some said pre season he might have been the best NFL prospect up front we had.
Could you imagine if that prediction had come to pass..add a 330 lb plus Nose Tackle with real talent to that group. Leonard Fournette would have been lucky to take a handoff clean.

I still think 2012 is the best team Nick Saban has at Alabama. The 2012 defense wasn't dominant up from like the 2015 squad, but it was still a great defense that overachieved considering the losses from the 2011 team. That 2012 offense was one to be reckoned with. Was very methodical, scored a ton of points, and rarely turned the ball over.

Those are some good distinctions. If we picked the best units, the question becomes much easier.
2011 Defense. 2012 Offense. 2015 Special Teams?

In terms of my personal love for the team, they rank only behind 2009.
In terms of how good a team?
1. 2011
2a. 2012
2b. 2015
4. 2009
I think if they don't have the 15 minute brain fart against Ole Miss then we are talking about this team as one of the all-timers. The overall body of work for this team is crazy impressive.

I have no disposition towards other people on this board ranking teams, but I'm personally kind of done with ranking the NC teams. They were all special in their own unique ways, and they all played against substantially different competition.
Again, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with ranking them, but I'm over it.

Agree, good point.

I say it's not as good as 2011. I think it was better than 09. Defensively it was better than 12. I know this, it was probably my favorite.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority but, when considering strength of schedule, overall record, and accomplishments, I'd rank 'em like this:
2009 Alabama (Top 10 SOS in the nation, undefeated, beat #2, #3, and #10 ranked teams in final poll, #2 in Total Defense, Heisman winner, SEC Champ)
2015 Alabama (rated toughest SOS in the nation by almost every major ranking service, beat 12 FBS/bowl teams with winning records, and beat 2 conference champions, #3 in Total Defense, Heisman winner, SEC Champ)
2012 Alabama (top 20 in SOS, probably the best OL in the Saban era, #1 in Total Defense, one of the more clutch teams in winning classics at LSU and in the SECCG, SEC Champ)
2011 Alabama (top 15 in SOS, #1 defense in all major categories; loved their defense but we only faced 1 offense, #29 Arkansas, that was ranked better than 84th in Total Offense)

I think the 15 team beats the 12 team.

2012 had an awesome OL. I hope we see another OL like that in the near future.

I think the 12 team was the most complete football team Saban has had at Bama.
