Assuming Saban does another several seasons, what happens to Kiffin?

So this would be year 3 of Kiffin at Bama and if it looks anything like years 1 or 2, it'll be another good year for Bama on offense, which is particularly impressive with 3 different QBs.
My point is, assuming Saban is around a while longer, you gotta think Kiffin has done enough (proven himself in the SEC) and wants another HC job, Right? Would he stay an OC for the long haul at Bama? Take an OC job in the NFL? Another SEC/Pac HC?
The only way I see him staying in the SEC much longer is if Saban retires and offers the gig to him. UGA, UF, OM, Aub, all have their guys, at least through the next 2 seasons you would think. And in that time frame I feel like Kiffin would make a move.
Butch might crash and burn at UT but there's no chance they hire Kiffin again.
CLM is on the brink of going one way or the other, is Joe Alleva dumb enough to hire Kiffin? I hope not.
aTm doesn't strike me as appealing to Kiffin, does he have any connections to Texas?
No other SEC job would be appealing enough IMO.
I hate the offseason.

If he goes, I'd put money on it being back out west.
But who knows. His move to Alabama was pretty out of left field so honestly, nothing would surprise me with Lane Kiffin anymore.

from what I am hearing Lane is enjoying his time at Alabama and he is learning a lot of things that he needed to learn from Saban. I think he will be a head coach again but I also think he is content at Alabama. He wants to coach this new kid we have coming in at QB because he actually brought him here with him from California. If he stay past next year I have to assume he is being promised the keys to the gate when Saban steps down to become AD.

He becomes the Auburn head coach.

He'd be stupid to leave as long as Saban is fully committed to Bama. He sucked as a head coach, makes a lot of money, and is with the most successful team in college football. If he bombed out as HC at another school, whatever gig he got would be a step down from Bama OC.

I would find this easier to believe if the money wasn't so far off. What he's making as on OC is what 30% of what he'd make in another p5 HC position? For better or for worse, he is a "splashy" hire and he'd land somewhere paying 4mil a year, if not more.

I could see that happening, but only if it happens after this year, MAYBE one more (2017) but that seems like a stretch.

There was a rumor this morning of Kiffin buying a house on lake in Ttown but I find it hard to believe. I think Kiffin eventually takes a HC job in Pac12 and starts beating USC like Saban does to LSU.

I have to think post-year 3 is the year he moves on.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but couldn't he make a lot more money doing TV? I would also think a good portion of an AD's time would be having to kiss boosters' asses. I have heard it said from the Alabama fans and alumni that post on here that Saban detests doing this.

I honestly thought he (Kiffin) would leave after this season. I can't see him staying beyond one more year. The west coast seems set right now. NFL maybe? I just find it hard to believe he would leave for a coordinator job.

Is USC still paying him the difference in what he was making and what he's making now, or has that ended.

I think working under saban may have humbled kiffin quite a bit and taught him what it takes to be great. kiffin gets another chance at being a head coach, and will excel at his next stop.

Saban will never be the AD. He will retire and head to the lake!

The USC buyout runs through 2016. To me, that is the main reason he's staying this year and will probably explore other options next year.

god, I hope he does this. nick saban would make a terrible AD. bama sports would take a downward spiral, including football. his ego would cause major problems; problems that me and the rest of the SEC would laugh our arse off about.

lol
Saban could be successful in any field. The man has a drive (fueled by the aforementioned ego and the spectre of his father) that is unparalleled.

My guess is mid-level power 5 school as head coach for his next stop.
