I haven't looked at his stats nor seen a second of his film so I don't have the first CLUE what his 40 time is...but what I DO know for absolute certain that I woudl stake my life on is that he does not run a 4.6.
There are skill position players going in the first round of the draft that go to the combine and do actual, legit laser timed 40s that barely run a 4.7
I was thinking the same thing. A very, very fast 300 pounder will typically run a 5.1 or so.

Aren't you the one always bitching about how our 6th most talented roster in the country last year wasn't really that good because it wasn't balanced?
We need help in the trenches more than we need a 5'8 athlete.
I am, and our secondary was a big part of that last year. It needs a major upgrade.

Oh come on. Jaymest has shown no signs of being a bitch who doesn't want to practice or offensive skills.

But but, WG said he hasn't watched any video on him, but he knows for a fact that he isn't that fast or close to it.
Sorry, but I am with WG. There are NFL receivers that don't run a4.6 40. I can promise there probably isn't a 300 pound player anywhere running anywhere close to that laser timed. Look at combine times for every player and you will see what I mean.
ETA
Just checked last years combine results and the fastest Offensive Lineman ran a 4.95 and weighed 295. (Joe Thurney of NC State) MOST of them ran around a 5.1 or higher. Only three ran less than a 5.0, and they were in the 4.9+ range. (One was actually 4.98)

Solomon, Collins, Bryant, Speed, Warner. We're full unless someone else leaves.

Looks like Beal has shut it down. Said on Twitter he is 100% Dawg and not going anywhere. I assume that means he is not taking his other visits.
Posted on 1/14/17 at 1:35 pm to crispyUGA
I believe Beal and his family have said he's 100% over and over. The media guys just hype up every little thing these kids do. I'm more worried about Wyatt looking around and the UF insiders saying they feel confident in their chances to flip him.
I think we will see a few more guys leave the program and that will open up an extra spot or 2.

I don't know what he runs a 40 in, but I do know I don't ever remember seeing a 300+ pound man moving like that.
This is true. No matter how you slice it he can move for a big man!
Whether it is 4.6 or 4.9 that is moving.

Something is off with his ranking.

You would think. If he runs anywhere NEAR a 4.6 (Say a 4.9 or even a 5.0) you would think if he can play any at all he would be at least close to a 4*. His ranking seems awfully low, even if he doesn't camp.

still, taking an absolute combine freak donald, measured at 6'1" and 285, we can see his combine 40 was 4.68. That in itself is a far cry from 4.6, not to mention wyatt has 3 inches and 15 pounds on him to boot.

So what would you say he runs?
All I said was that he runs a 4.6 or close to it. Plus the best recruiting service in the business is the one who has him posted at 4.6. I think if you actually watch film on him then you will see that the number may not be so far fetched.
Plus your examples of OL and their 40 is laughable since he plays DL and DL guys are more athletic than OL on avg. Plus this guy is listed at 6'4, 300 lbs. Plus on the track video of him that I posted, he looks closer to the 4.6 than to a 5.0 forty time.
So when you say you will bet your life, what if he eventual runs a 4.6 say at his pro day? Or does it need to be at the combine only? I get hand times are not accurate, but I would say they usually are .1-.2 off, obviously they can be much worse, but what people have listed at their pro day vs combine, should reflect this. Even then if you at .2 to his 4.6, that will be a 4.8 and he still looks faster than that.
Plus here is another video of him playing RB. Don't think they would let a 4.9 guy play RB but I guess so.

Holy shite that's crazy! If he can do that for 100 yds I'd like to try him at punt returner. Could you imagine trying to tackle that?

I don't think he was calling you out. You were only going by the information you got from the recruiting service. (I shouldn't speak for WG, though) The recruiting service is getting their information from him or his coach. If he doesn't camp, then it's the only way they could be getting it. And coaches are notoriously wrong. They fudge on 40 times, weight, and height. He is obviously faster than most people his size, but when you are talking about 40 times, .5 is a huge difference. My guess is he is running closer to a 4.8 or 4.9....and WG is right. That is a big difference. And don't be fooled by a YouTube video, either. Nobody knows who those guys are he is racing against, or how fast they are. I looked up his track record, and (What i found) it showed him doing the shot put...not any running events. If he had world class speed, he would be running in running events. Maybe he runs out of gas and can't run a 100? Possibly.
I checked combine times for DLinemen too. The DT's were all about where the Olinemen were, too. The only DLinemen with close times to 4.6 were 240 pound DE's.

His ranking is low because he doesn't camp and he plays for a terrible high school team that no one visits.
Posted on 1/14/17 at 3:19 pm to DawgsLife
Something is also off with his flirting with sc and uf. Makes me think he isn't all that good and our coaches are pushing him to visit

quote:I didn't say whether or not he runs a 4.x 40, but the notion that coaches in a low classification of football are only going to give their only D1 player, and probably the best player on the field at any time, the ball is if he runs a sub 5 second 40 is pretty dumb. I. Wilson played some wildcat QB and RB last season, seriously doubt he runs a sub 5 second 40.
So what you are saying is that you didn't watch the video? If so you would see that he doesn't run a 4.9, regardless if he does have 100lbs on everyone else.
