If Steph Curry went to your school

After Curry was only given a walk on offer from Virginia Tech (his dad's alma mater) and was given almost no interest from anyone else due to his physical build, it stands to reason the Steph would have gone to any major school that would have had the insight to see his potential and offer a scholarship.... like the SEC perhaps? In real life, no one but Davidson bit.
oh, btw he stayed in school for 3 years.
So imagine Steph Curry from 2007-2009 playing for your team. Is he a runaway star? Buried in the depth of an already loaded team? Does he take a few years to get going? Would that year's coaching staff ruin him?

Ak would of signed him before anybody else in the league. Undersized guy nobody wants but can shoot the lights out? It's his bread and butter.

Or worse.... we would still have Gottfried.

Billy the kid probably would have done wonders with him after the 04s left in 2007

the 06-07 Gator champs were a talented bunch, I could see Steph, in his formative years, being in the shadows until that 2008-2009 year. Then he probably would have exploded onto the scene. #1 pick to the Clippers

I saw that kid play live and in person against my Gamecocks in the NIT and knew he was going to be a star ... he just stood-out, it was obvious. He dropped 32 in against us in the upset. (Curry vs Devan Downey ... helluva game actually.)
Believe me, after that game, a lot of people were asking why Horn didn't recruit him.

Given how weak the SEC was in the 2008-2009 season, Steph Curry would have done amazingly well.
I personally witness him tear the Gamecocks a new a-hole in the NIT that year.

He would have been good for two years then Stansbury would have driven him off to another school.

B/c Horn may have been the worst head coach in Division I.

I went to College of Charleston and I was so glad when he graduated. Dude skull fricked us in the SoCon every chance he got.

Gottfried might still be the coach

You were at C of C from 2006-2009? No kidding. You may know my youngest daughter. No, wait, she walked in 2007 so probably not.

2006-07 VOLS (1 point loss in Sweet 16)
1. Ramar Smith (5* Fr.)
2. Chris Lofton (Consensus AA, SEC POY)
3. JaJuan Smith (reigning SEC 6MOY)
4. Dane Bradshaw (senior glue guy)
5. Wayne Chism (4* Fr.)
Curry probably gets a lot of backup minutes on this team. Not a ton of backcourt depth here. Definitely not starting over Jr. Lofton at the 2 or a 5* frosh at PG.
2007-08 VOLS (31-5 SEC Champs)
1. Ramar Smith (returning starter)
2. Chris Lofton (3x Consensus AA)
3. JaJuan Smith (started every game these 2 years)
4. Tyler Smith (First Team All SEC)
5. Wayne Chism (returning starter)
Likely same role as prior year although he was definitely good enough to start next to Lofton on the wing or at PG this season even on a team that spent some time ranked #1.
2008-09 VOLS (SEC East Champs; Lost SEC Tourney final and first round of NCAAT)
1. Bobby Maze (JUCO AA; very average this season)
2. Scotty Hopson (Expected to be 1 and done coming in; very highly rated Fr.)
3. JP Prince (reigning SEC 6MOY)
4. Tyler Smith (returning All SEC performer)
5. Wayne Chism (All SEC)
Tennessee likely doesn't recruit or sign Hopson if Curry is on the roster and he is easily the best player on this team. Would have been a very, very good team with what Tennessee had on the frontcourt on this team.
