Yes, Most of Louisiana is. It's run by morons

Only the lower 9th Ward is that way.

I honestly don't care about the history and "culture", nor is that what you stated you meant. Regardless, the issue isn't my feelings on NO, it's your dumb statement as if NO is the fricking crown jewel of the south, which is far from the truth.

There are amazing, beautiful parts of New Orleans, and I am not talking about the French Quarter. It is a great city. You should get off of Bourbon Street.
Go Uptown or over by Bayou St. John or the Marigny or a dozen other places. Yes, there is crime, but if you aren't in on a drug deal in a bad neighborhood, you are probably fine.
New Orleans is like the Caribbean - not like the rest of America. It is more like Key West than anywhere else I have been in America. And, for that, I am grateful.

My best friend and I (I'm fem just in case you didn't know) got a male lap dance together in a little room in the upstairs of a male strip club and the whole scene was just surreal. That's enough detail.

Not compared to Arkansas.

You'll struggle here, in that case. And, to put it politely, it's your loss. But you don't know that.

other than crime, shitty roads, bad education, a rampant homeless problem, a heroin epidemic and severely deteriorating infrastructure, it is the bees knees
Yes you have to boil water about once a month or so.
Also watch out for brain eating parasites, but I think that was only found in an adjacent parish and not in Orleans.

Has the state of Arkansas gotten a dental school yet?

It's obvious who's spent time in New Orleans and who's been a tourist in the FQ a couple of times.
Great food everywhere, compact enough to be walkable, and always something to do. New Orleans just has too much personality for you Protestants to feel comfortable.

I KNOW!!!!
I'll go see if my rainwater catcher from Whole Foods is filled so I can bathe without getting a parasite before I go have a martini at one of the restaurants that none of the tourists frequent.

Anyone who doesn't enjoy that is a communist.
Btw, ever eat/drink at URSA Major?
Had four of us and just got a parade of small plates. Menu has a sense of whimsy, I had so much fun.
Oh and Shaya is fiya (I'm guessing you've been too though). I wanted to make myself vomit so I could keep eating. That bread.

Ursa Major closed, but yes! Their other restaurant Booty's Street Food closed too.
That bread at Shaya is DELICIOUS. Have you had it with their hummus? And the lamb kebabs... YUM. I think it's far better to get small plates there, if for no other reason than to taste everything.
Will you be in Nola at all for Mardi Gras? Were you in town for the Sugar Bowl?

They have obviously never been to a 3rd world country or went the month after Katrina

Damn it! That's a shame on URSA Major.
And yeah, I'm going to be in town for Mardi Gras. Hopefully get down Thursday night but might be Friday midday. Did go to the Sugar Bowl too, playing tour guide to my Ole Miss people. Wish I got down there more...
