Gonna be fun if this turns into another AJ vs. Phillip Sims debate. I remember way back when I used to post on Wooly everyone was going nuts for Sims because he was a consensus 5 star and AJ was a 4 star.
Right down to the opening couple of games, Sims was wanted by a ton of people.
That being said, I think Barnett wins it.

I imagine Hurts will redshirt.
Bateman has the experience. All three are talented. Barnett supposedly has "it".
I'm gonna say Barnett, but it is early. We'll see what happens in the Spring.

I'm going with Cornwell.

I think it'll be Bateman as of now more because Barnett has more boxes to check then Cooper does.
If BB can manage them, it'll be much closer.
Bateman needs more confidence, he plays too conservative. He capable of more than that. He doesn't have a rocket arm, but he has enough to make the throws.

I think the only reason DC is staying is because he gains nothing by transferring now. He can stay, get his degree, and transfer with no penalty after this year. Why leave, sit out a year and play next year when you can do the same thing with a degree?

Barnett. And this time he wins the job in July or August.

I think Barnett wins it. I really believe that Kiffin wanted to play him this year. Supposedly, he is a good leader.

I agree with this. Bateman seems passive with the ball. But let's not forget he was a fairly highly touted prospect like Cornwell and Barnett. Barnett definitely has more hype, though I think Cornwell would have as well if he didn't miss some time for various reasons in HS.
I wonder how much of the Cornwell news from Fall Camp was true? Stuff about him getting in the doghouse.

I was Team Phil, too, but only because I saw a picture of AJ's tattoo. I figured anyone with that little common sense should not be given the responsibility of playing QB for Bama, because if he screws up important, life-long decisions like letting someone put... that on his chest, then there's no way he's going to make the right decisions with the ball.
Glad I was wrong, but damn. That tattoo.

I ain't touching this topic with a 10 foot pole.
I'll just wait and see. I've learned my lessons.

I liked Sims because he had a stronger arm. But I guess that just means you throw interceptions farther down field.

It's going to be Barnett vs. Bateman IMO. Cornwell is a dark horse who may end up transferring after he gets his degree.
But, as I have said since the AJ vs. Sims battle back in '11, I want the best QB to play. I don't care what the name on the jersey is.

Please let Barnett be the truth.

If the kid is as advertised...gotta go with Barnett. I like the kids skillset and he's had a season to sit and learn from Kiffin.

History says Bateman, but if that National Championship game against Watson did anything, it made me wish we had a QB like that.
Both Bateman and Barnett have somewhat similar skillsets (to each other as well as to Watson). But like Mag mentioned, if Bateman was more confident, then I think we would be comfortable with him, but we have seen him, so most want to see what the Freshman phenom can do. Barnett reportedly has all the tools and is an Alpha, so it should be a nice contrast from the personality dept.
Like most others are saying, I agree that unfortunately Cornwell appears to be looking to take the Grad Transfer route.

Why do you think this? Not trying to be confrontational, but wondering if this is more than just conjecture.
Cornwell might have lost the QB battle last year, but he is still plenty talented and will certainly have a decent chance to take over the reigns.
That being said, I think that it will be Barnett.
