Amen. Alexander the Great didn't even have that large of an empire. Genghis Khan's was MUCH MUCH bigger.

Bowden's run might just edge out Saban's for consistency, but the national titles pretty much settle the issue.

We Bama fans are truly blessed to have the greatest HCs in college football history strive to one day coach at Bama. Saban, Bear, Wade, Thomas, et al. The HC position at Bama is the holy grail of the sporting world.
My only regret is that fans of other teams will never know the contentment of being a Bama fan. I will therefore raise my level of contentment to unprecedented heights so that I can somehow subliminally impart that contentment to those that are less fortunate.
Roll Tide and SEC, SEC, SEC.

I was sitting at home last night, drunk, thinking about the comparison and contrasts of the Saban Dynasty and the Miami Dynasty. Miami's is impressive because they won 4 titles with 3 different coaches from 83-91. They continued to remain relevant after that and won another title with a 4th coach in 2001. Saban won 4 out of the last 7 and is full steam ahead. He also built an LSU program that won a title shortly after he left and has been able to stay relevant and in contention for national titles yearly. Which one is better?

Miami. They were NOTHING before the 80s. That is an amazing leap.
Bama was a top 5 program in the sport before Nick ever showed up.

Miami's teams were also as dirty as they get. There's no way around that. IMO, the only people who seriously believe Saban runs a dirty program are people who would never accept any other conclusion. So I prefer comparing Bowden to Saban. Free Shoes wasn't clean, of course, but it wasn't anywhere close to Miami's level of corruption.

You sure about that? Before Saban, the last time they were ranked in the top 5 was 5th in 1994. 1994 to Saban era, they were ranked in the top 25 5 times (ineligible for one of those rankings) , only twice in the top 10.
