Am I a winner for not setting a match to my money by buying a ticket? If so I shouldn't be in here

Lottery is for the government cheese folks, I invest in the numbers game as the odds are better and I can get chicken and waffles at the same place I can lay my money down. Just hard to get the same experience at a convenience store selling day old burritos.

I cross the river to Delta LA to save a few bucks on booze once a week, and the Chevron station/liquor store consistently has a very sad collection of humans. Over 100 are lined up to buy their tickets. Walkers are prevalent. Full sets of teeth are not. The store hires off-duty cops to direct traffic in their parking lot. Even if I wasn't predisposed to stay away from lotteries, that scene would be enough to wake me up and turn me off.

Yeah I know somebody has to win eventually, but I'm certain almost all of the buyers have no idea what the odds are. Or rather, they might, but numbers that large are meaningless to them.

ETA: Oh, I'm in.
