Season is over and we end up 10-3....

And we don't even crack the final top 25. That just goes to show you what happened this year. Did we win 10 games? Yes...am I happy? Yes. But looking closely at the wins, and I'm not going to re-hash what happened this season, but looking closely it was a pitiful year for our team.
The East absolutely sucked. The worst its been in a long time. South Carolina, Mizz, Kentucky, and Vandy were all just awful, and I mean awful teams. Ga Southern would have easily beat all 4.
Tenn, while good, is still just slightly above average and Florida, after they lost Grier, really turned on the suck the last half of the season. I mean 41 points to Michigan....fricking awful.
Ga did what we normally do...win ten games in a over matched conference. We lost every game we played against a team with a pulse and THAT is why Richt was fired. We had to go to overtime to beat Ga Southern....OVERTIME TO BEAT GA frickING SOUTHERN.
Ga not winning the East when its so down like this and we are recruiting better than every other East team is beyond infuriating.
I for one cannot wait to see what kind of attitude Kirby instills at UGA cause its a fricking mess right now.
Let the off season begin.

If they win that TENN game, which they should have, its a really good year.

Final rankings don't include the last win so we were 9-3. They were taken after the conference championship games unless you see another one

There will be another poll after the title game. We will be ranked in that. In the coaches we were already 25th, in the AP we were 26th, but #24 Temple lost their bowl game so we will be in the top 25 there too.
I'm not saying this is anything to brag about, but we will be ranked.

If that happened is there anyone here that would have thought we had ANY chance to beat AL in Atlanta?
Getting to Atlanta more than twice every ten years would be nice...having a legit expectation that you might actually win that game is what I'm looking for.

We did bad enough to get Richt fired but we weren't a dumpster fire, not bad if you think about it.

We still wouldn't have gone to Atlanta. Florida only had one SEC loss, we would have had two had we beaten Tennessee.

As stated, we still wouldn't have gone. But to answer your question, I'll ask another: Would any SEC team have thought they had much chance to beat Bama in the SECCG? Maybe a couple in the west, but any in the east? I'm thinking no...so it isn't just us.

This season went about as expected. I expected us to lose to Tennesse. That game was horrendous to lose that way and I still think we were the better team on the field that day but whatever. I thought we'd win Alabama before the season but when you give up 14 points to a great team, you're going to regret it. The Florida game was a foregone conclusion before kickoff. Another team we have multiple touchdowns too. Just can't fricking do that.
Next season will be tough but I'm ready.

If we had eked out wins against UT and Florida....both very bad teams in their own right...we would have been 11-3 0r 12-2 after losing to Bama in the title game and either winning or losing a bowl game..we would have still been a pretty lousy football team despite the record. The SEC east is a cake walk....and we are a big part of that.
But that was yesterday and yesterday is gone....the future is bright! We have new blood, new energy and the program aint in the shape it was the last time we have new blood and new energy.

the east WAS a cakewalk. smart is stepping in right as UF and UT are poised to make serious runs. muschamp is already impressing me at carolina, I dont think that hire is nearly as lol as me and a ton of other people thought. and laugh if you want, but imo that Eddie gran hire was A+ for UK. I wouldnt be surprised to see them sneaking up on some damn good teams in a yr or two
Kirby definitely has his plate full. the good news for us is his seat is warm day 1 so to speak. a season or two of 9 or 10 wins and a shitload of people will be saying WHAT THE frick DID WE FIRE RICHT FOR. and im sure kirby knows that
