I know nothing about him, but this doesn't seem like a comparable hire to Ivey...

He may not be Ivey but he sounds well respected.

According to the NSCA Memphis was a way stronger team than Mizzou this year. That based on the cumulative total of the 4 primary power lifts.

I'm not sure why there's so much hand wringing over Ivey. Our guys got their asses whipped up front on both sides of the ball when it mattered most.
This program had peaked under Pinkel. This program needed new blood.

Well, Ivey is a PhD, whiney-arse socialist SJW.
Cutchlow looks like a tough warrior from his photo.
That's a comparison I'd take and run with, any day.

Sums it up pretty well right there.
Odom has had his eye on Cutchlow for some time now. So it's no big surprise he went and got him. I think Odom has done pretty well with his staff so far.
Really, the only way to know for sure on Cutchlow is player performance on the field. That remains to be seen. I got a feeling, this staff isn't waiting around for the next shoe to fall. I hope I'm guessing that they will be getting these players on a regime of some kind right away.

We don't know that for sure. It's always unnerving stepping outside the box. We've been in that comfort box way too long now. Time for new ideas and new regimes. Pinkel got us as far as he could, in two conferences. So, kudo's to him. Let's see if Odom can't take us a little further now.

It's a downgrade plain and simple but oh well.

You're right. I meant that, based on resume, he doesn't quite have Ivey's pedigree. But this is a new regime, and I'm hopeful the new staff will do well.
