Maybe I'm already overstepping boundaries but I'd like to ask how the board wants this place moderated. I certainly don't think anyone wants a heavy hand.

However, we suffer from a few folks who want to dominate conversation and steer threads back to the same topic. This makes me, for one, read and post far less. So the effect, at least imo, is stifling conversation.

Personally I think this goes against the grain of what this board has been. But it's entirely possible my opinion is very much in the minority.

So I'd like to hear board member thoughts on whether you want any change at all to the moderation policy and if so, what you suggest.

Usually the less moderation the better, but I agree with tmc. I don't even think the mods need to step in. A few are stuck in constant melt mode. We just need to cool it on it. I would think a simple request would be enough. We're all pretty friendly and chill on this board.

But if we start dealing with people who are in constant melt mode, do we do the same with people who are in constant sunshine pumping mode? I don't want to do either and I would much rather ask people like Roger to cool with it and not have it follow into every single thread. But I don't know about outright moderating it when the same isn't being done when Sarge tells us that kyler shouldn't be criticized for not being able to throw a football

I don't tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do

What makes this board better than texags is it we don't crucify each other when we don't agree.

So are you attacking me for not being negative? Really?

I think not letting the same arguement or convo being held on one or more thread bleed over into multiple unrelated threads is reasonable moderation.

But I reall believe we've done a good job on our own. To be fair these have been a trying few weeks

and that's something I can get behind. But it gets difficult when people make three or four threads about the same subject

Outside of obvious trolls, no need to moderate with an Iron Fist and throw people overboard tArk. Ask yourself WWBLD (What would Billy Liucci Do) and then do the opposite. The way this board has been run thus far has been the best anyone could ask for. Rumors stay up, Telenovela style gossip is allowed (if it doesn't hurt players), and melts are more fun.

Melts are going to happen and they've been what I'd expect thus far with what has happened in the past. Nobody has stepped over the line and has started personal attacks against crew mates. And as long that doesn't happen, we should be alright.

Heck, porn blasts are welcomed by me, but I understand why you take them down. (But just know you have my vote to keep them up )

An option that I would be ok with is if we go the shag route. Have one thread per topic of discussion and we can just delete threads that are about the same topic and tell people to move the discussion to the other thread.

yeah, maybe we should do a better job of anchoring topics that are duplicate. It might clean up the board a bit

I've seen it a few times, I'm not going to point that guy out but that to me is where TexAgs doesn't get it right, when they allow everyone to pile on the outside the group think opinion

That's definitely something that I will do going forward. I do believe that should help keep stuff contained. Because I'm not trying to keep stuff from happening butt I agree that it should be contained better

Can we condense repetitive melt topics? That would be nice

If a poster bleeds something over into an unrelated thread mark the post unreadable and move on, it won't take long to clear it up

I think this is reasonable.
