I think the networks are really biting themselves on this one. Why on earth have the 2 playoff games on the same day and on New years eve. If anything you schedule one the games new years eve early and another on new years day when everyone is hungover and watching football is the best way to recover!!! I will most likely be glued to the t.v until 10:30 11 depending on how much Gary and Verne talk!

Anyone else have a opinion on this or are they fine with it?

If games were on different days, I'd have a big problem with it if I were one of the teams playing on day 2 and have one less day of prep for the championship game if I won

I hate they are on NYE too, but the networks aren't going to over shadow the Rose Bowl if they can help it

Time for CFB and TV to tell the Rose Bowl to piss off.

I like it. Going to enjoy bringing in the new year in Dallas

NYE is a highly overrated holiday anyway

I do understand what you're saying but I think the most important thing is to keep the games on the same day. I'm planning on doing an oyster roast on NYE with TVs outside so it's fine by me.

Well, they won't be talking much at all since the games are on ESPN and not CBS.

The networks have no choice b/c the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl had it written into the playoff contract that they always get the prime time spots on NYD. ESPN wanted to change it up but they were denied.

If you want to be mad at somebody its the Sugar and Rose people that fricked this up.
