Eddie Lacy's the best NFL RB to come out of Bama in the Saban era and it's not even close. I also think YPC is a telling stat. Yeldon, Richardson and Ingram averaged 5.7 or 5.8 YPC and all three of them are pedestrian NFL RBs at best. Meanwhile, Eddie Lacy averaged 6.8 YPC while he was at Bama. That's a whopping 1 yard more per carry than the other three backs. That's the difference between being a solid RB running behind a great offensive line and a top NFL RB running behind a great offensive line. Derrick Henry's right in the middle at 6.2 yards per carry. He's not as good as Eddie Lacy but he'll probably be a better pro than Yeldon, Richardson and Ingram.

Lacy has done better in the NFL than his career at Bama would have suggested.
Lacy leads all Bama backs under Saban in Career YPC.
He was unstoppable to close his career. 40 carries for 320 3 Rush TDs and 1 Rec TD against UGA and ND.

Henry does one thing that will endear him to pro QB's..he is hell against the blitz he will damn sure block.

Lacy is very good, like I said. He has been the best so far. He just has trouble reporting to camp in shape, and he pisses off McCarthy a lot.
To be fair, Mike McCarthy is a megadouche and an infuriating head coach. So you can't discount that.

I think he will have a good career. He is big and strong. A sussesful running back in the pros get 80 to 100 yards a game on 20 carrys. He runs a little upright. Alot like Shaun Alexander. But more speed and much more power. If he gets a decent team with a line he will be fine. He also is really good at picking up a blitz. Just my opinion

If he wants a long pro career he'll start working out at LB the second the season is over

A taller Ron Dayne. Nice pro, but not a superstar.

Yeldon,
Is in the top 15 in the NFL in rushing.
I am assuming that Lacy got much less carries than the other three over their careers, thus affecting YPC averages.

Are you suggesting he'll be better than Shaun Alexander? I know Alexander ran behind a great line and a monster fullback (Mack Strong), but his numbers were so gaudy that he was considered one of the top handful of backs for a number of years. Likening Henry to him sets Henry's bar awfully high.

Correct. I get tired of people projecting pro careers. Has nothing to do with college football

I don't think he will be a star. 30 yrs ago, he probably would have been. He's the type of guy that will have to carry a whole lot to wear the defense down, and that will wear him down in about 4-5 seasons.
He's a little too big, takes a little too much time to get rolling. Needs the ball too much, probably won't be a factor with something like 15 carries. Not very shifty, will get hit and tackled a lot at the line "with one man to beat".
I agree, this has nothing to do with the Heisman, I think he should win that.

Trent's problem is he lacks vision and Henry has great vision. His cuts aren't great but he has more power than anyone. Vision and power will go a long way in the NFL.

You should definitely keep crying about it
