I've had a .40 cal Sig 226 for several years. Best handgun I've owned

Another vote for a Glock 19. Best all around jack of trades handgun. Small enough to carry, big enough to fight with.
I've got a Glock 42 in my pocket as I type this sitting on my couch.

Like at church, the movies, a Christmas party, QT to pick up a 12 pk, Walmart to get stocking stuffers?? Unfortunately nowadays its the places you feel like you wouldn't need to CC that are the places you definitely need to. You never know when it will be needed. If that unfortunate event ever did arise that you needed it I'm positive you'd rather deal with a little discomfort of having it, than living with "what if's".
With that said if you're looking for a 1911 go with .45 if you want a 9 I'd go with something double stacked. I love my G19.
Sadly, this is all too true. I've yet to come to grips with this mentally I think, as someone who does not currently possess a firearm. Thanks for the mental check... will give that some thought as well.

I pretty much carry religiously everywhere except where prohibited by law. When the day comes that you are going to need a gun......you are really gonna fricking need a gun.

I'm taking my 8 year-old son to see Star Wars on the premier night at 10pm. All that's going on right now has really made me nervous about it. Considering carrying to the movie now.

Seen a guy get shot four times in the back and keep running. I have nothing against the actual 9mm. Just don't trust them enough. Same thing with .38 due to similar experience

CZ P09 or SP01 feels great in your hand and VERY accurate. My buddies shoot CZ's better than their own.

Shot placement is vital. While I agree that I'd much rather have a larger caliber when the time comes. I'm just saying a .22 will drop a man in his tracks with the proper placement. I have a friend of a friend who says it will do the same to a deer.

Had a little one earlier this year, which is one of the reasons I had been thinking about a gun for home defense. That concealed carry to go see a movie is a normal, rational thought is still such a foreign concept to me, yet totally plausible in the current climate.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say this had more to do with the shooter than it did the gun. MAYBE the ammo (not caliber, just type).

I agree. I've had my permit for years, but I can count on one hand how many times I've actually carried. That thought process is changing a good bit now.

The CZ that I shot is still one of the best feeling guns I've ever shot, but *hated* the sights on it... not sure if it was just that they were dirty on the range at the gun or what, but really felt like it was a chore to try and line them up. Is that something that can easily be replaced/modified?

I have a S&W M&P 9mm and its money. If I was going to carry I'd get the M&P shield. I contemplated a 40 or 45 but I've been very pleased with the 9. It also has interchangeable grips to accomodate different sized hands and I personally like the feel over the Glock.

Cant beat a Glock, I just bought it a G43

I'm a fan of the Walther P99 40
Small enough to CC should you ever feel the need yet still big enough to fill full and comfortable in the hand. There is also a neat decocker if you are concerned with safety features.

At the theaters near me they have started putting a cop at the door and even looking in girls purses. Not sure what they would do if they found it on you even with a permit. Probably ask you to leave. But they probably wouldn't see it

I think he was being facetious when he made that statement. I mean I would think it to be illegal to shoot a guy running from you and not towards. Then again I'm not sure about laws in GA. Definitely can drop a guy with a 9mm, center mass is center mass.

If $$ is not a barrier go for a Kimber. The easiest Kimber .45 to carry is probably the Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry ll. Great gun and comes standard with a Crimson Trace laser sight built into the grip.
Awesome carry gun.
