re: Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that we're behind the 8 ball?

Chill people. It's Kirby - always has been. It wont be official until after SECCG. Which does put us a little bit behind the 8-ball for both recruiting and assistants. My hope is Pruitt stays which I do think is doubtful. Dont think Muschamp is the answer but also dont think that will break Kirby's back.
What's funny is if ADGM thought Pruitt was too big of a problem then wait until Muschamp goes full ape shite on the sidelines in his 1st game.

That's fine. Just some Tuesday morning chicken little-ing. Don't know what you're going to use it to prove but go ahead.

Love to hear your spirited defense of McGarity.

I agree with you. Smart is our next coach.
Ironically the DC position is about to become very interesting because of the void CKS will leave at Bama. The reason I think it's ironic is because we can see Pruitt going back home to help CNS run the defense. (Saban probably doesn't need much help with that)
Furthermore, we've really liked what we've seen Pruitt do on the field with our own D. His fire was a welcomed addition to Coach Valium.
However, I think CKS can run the D without much help in the same way that CMR was more hands-on running the O in his early tenure.
Therefore, what becomes most important is the OC hire.

A search firm has been hired, per Seth Emerson. Says Pruitt unlikely to be retained and no telling what coaches are going to remain; only reason they're out on the recruiting trail right now is because they're still getting paid.

Does anyone really think we pulled an Auburn and negotiated a new head coach before firing Richt ala Tubbs and Petrino? I don't for a second. I don't doubt that Kirby is the leader in the clubhouse but I do think there are some big names who have yet to make the turn.

It appears it points to Kirby. Sure the other names are back up and leverage.. At least that makes business sense..
Still, I don't think they thought the PR aspect through and it will really come to be them if the team isn't really good in fast order...

The presser with Richt and McGarity could not have gone worse for McGarity and Georgia. Every coach who might be considering the Georgia position has to ask himself whether he wants McGarity for a boss.
Kirby Smart spent years working for a boss that he could respect. I don't think Kirby or any other quality candidate will ever choose to work under McGarity.

It's just really hard for me to get on board with this. It could very well be true, but sending them out when no one knows who will be retained - it's almost like we are negatively recruiting ourselves.

Being reported Pruitt is the frontrunner for the USCe job. This could be an interesting 2016 season

Frontrunner per 680 the fan.

according to them there's a meteor hurtling straight for Sanford Stadium and has been for 12 years now and oh how we should have listened to them and Buck Belue was told that the meteor is a Florida grad and we should listen to him.
But seriously, frick 680 and their fear mongering bullshite

I just have a really hard time believing he is a serious candidate. No HC experience, left FSU on a sour note, was involved in a dustup here with our administration. It would certainly be a bold move for them.

They're turning desparate at USCe....who knows who've they've offered.

It's one of two things:
1. Spurrier trying to make us panic and squirm
2. Jimmy Sexton tiring of McGarity's shite and trying to force our hand
Hell, it could be a collaboration
