Heading down there for the AHSAA Championship games and need some ideas for good food for a resonable price.

Downtown has a lot of good places. Growing rapidly in terms of food and bar scene.
Few suggestions...
- avenue pub if you just want a burger and a beer.
- Five for good food and atmosphere. Not terribly pricey.
- chucks fish if you want to spoil your son after he wins the state championship.
Walking between those places you will be able to find a lot of alternatives.
Enjoy Ttown. Please don't be like every other Auburn fan here and bash it once you get home. Tuscaloosa is growing and cleaning itself up. Looks better and bigger every time I come back.

Avenue Pub is a great choice for a burger and craft beer.
Depalmas for Italian.
Innisfree for sports bar type place. Get the wings with irish gold sauce.
Archibalds across the river in Northport for the best damn ribs you will ever eat.
Chucks and 5 are both nice places but can get pricey.

We just discovered yesterday that there is a Shrimp Basket on McFarland. This is the only answer. Save all that uppity atmospheric bullshite for football season. You want good food? Shrimp Basket!

+1
I would normally recommend Cypress Inn as well, but have been told it is under new management and the quality has declined.

Mugshots for Burgers.
Any of the 3 Bob Baumhower Wings restaurants are OK.
Nicks in the Sticks is an excellent steak place, modest price. But don't expect an uppity atmosphere there!

Go to Tuts, get a steak and cheese and thank me later.
If you want a burger, go to Hooligans.
Gyro, go to Big Daddys.
Breakfast, go to Rama Jamas.

How the hell did I forget?
It's a little tough for those not familiar with the area to find, though.

If you're drunker than Cooter Brown at about 2 A.M, get messy fries from Quick Grill.

Side-by-Side is a new place. I haven't tried it yet, but heard great things.
New Orleans Fry House on Temerson Square
