Serious question for Auburn fans

I don't remember a single instance yesterday (I guess there could have been once or twice I may have missed) where Auburn went hurry up.
I heard Gary Danielson say that Auburn averaged 70 plays per game this year. Hurry up has been Auburn's bread and butter every year under Gus, and has always given Bama fits.
Why did you guys deviate from that this year? Did Muschamp have something to do with that - to help his defense out (they did improve tremendously throughout the year), or was it something else?

They tried to wet the field and shorten the game to give them a chance

No running QB to run the option read the way it should be run.

They did after 1st down, where he predictably went with the HB Dive.
Lucky for you there weren't a ton of 1st downs.
It has nothing to do with Muschamp.

No need to use the HUNH when the QB can't pass or run and the WRs can't catch.

Because if we go hurry up or run more plays it means more snaps for JJ.

I would imagine they were trying to minimize 3 and outs against a better team. You have to work things to your advantage and yesterday the hurry up wasn't an advantage.

It also means you give up more points and wears your defense out.

Is that the way it's always been? I thought I remember it being kind of a constant thing in years past, except maybe after negative plays.
In the first half, it seemed like you guys were getting 3-5 yards per carry and our defensive front couldn't stop it like they normally would. That's where I was expecting a lot of no huddle but never saw it.

That was a great TD pass. AU should have dialed it up again.

EAD for trying to start a "serious question" thread when you and the rest of your fanbase are trolling the shite out of the rant today.
to answer your question, Gus has been in full panic mode ever since he found out JJ was a terrible Qb. shite happens

Trying to avoid more rules against it? Seems when it is run effectively alot of teams cry about it being unfair?
I think Ill opt to the fact - no QB to run it

It's always been after first down. The reason it seemed like it was constant before was because we were consistently ripping people.

This is the only thread I've started today.

I think so. Some other AU fan can correct me if I'm wrong. I think Gus primarily likes to hit it again fast when they pick up a 1st down. He never rally goes up-tempo for an entire game, it's situational.

That's when it usually kicks in is after a first down and then they go fast. It's real simple and I shared it once. We didn't have the right QB and no real playmakers at WR.
Muschamp didn't make that happen. Poor QB play made that happen. We had a lot of 3 and outs this year.

We really haven't played with very much pace since 2013....
