No I agree that Richt's personality and how great of a person he is have bought him some time and I actually don't have a problem with that. Part of his job is to be a representative of the university and no one could do that better off the field than him.
But I haven't ever seen Miles considered as anything other than a likeable, albeit goofy, guy that comes across as very genuine.
ETA: an example of what I'm getting at is a guy like Bo Pelini. A douchebag who gets fired because of his personality despite what most would consider a pretty good win/loss record. Richt (obviously) and Miles don't fall into that type of category so that's why I'm assuming this has nothing to do with personality like that.
I honestly think part of it is LSU fans' Saban obsession and the fact that he used to coach there and now is at their rival and Miles can't conpete with him.

But, I guess that goes against the simpleton talking point that Louisiana expects to play for championships and Georgia does not, blah blah blah

And Miles is in the West and has to play all the other teams in the west every year. If GA were in the west the last few years, we would have had a worse record.

Maybe it speaks more to the difference between Richt and Miles as men.
Miles is probably a good father, husband, person etc too, but he's also a certified bumbling, stumbling buffoon. WHile Richt is the more dignified and noble and focused on the righteous path, etc.
If Richt was the coach at LSU with Miles same record, I wonder if they'd be as quick to push him out the door as they are with clown boy..
And surely, Miles would be long gone from UGA if he'd been coach here for 11 years and had Richt's record.
This might play a role. It certainly did with Donnan.

quote:LSU boosters > UGA, plain and simple. While some or many want to win a NC at UGA, nothing has been done to show it. Richt should of been fired after 6-7 season. Meanwhile at LSU, they are at least talking about moving on from Miles, pretty soon like, and this is Miles winning a national championship within the past several years (2011). Richt hasn't won the SEC since 2005, to put that into perspective.
One booster represents an entire program?
And are you suggesting that not a single UGA booster wants to win a championship?

That is true.

I don't think is simpleton at all. LSU ran through 5 coaches in 20 years post McLendon. That is an average tenure of 4 years which about all of them got, then they landed Ssban. Why? Searching for championships. And they got 2, 1 with Saban and 1 with Miles. Miles has a downward trend and they want to be in the natty mix. So, they are making a move.
Could Richt survive at LSU longer then Miles with Richt's record?
Not a chance.

LSU's financial situation is a freaking disaster. They're cutting programs left and right. And I believe the AD of LSU is actually a part of the school. If that's the case, there really is no justifiable reason to. If Les stays, there might be a small dropoff in revenue but not enough to truly impact the margin lines.

it's comical to watch some of these simple fricks beat their chests about some mythical Championship mentality. Seriously, do you people actually think or do you just say whatever comes out of your little emotional driven minds... Like a common bitch...

some mythical Championship mentality
Do you think BAMA will be in the playoff hunt next year?
Do you think OSU will?
Do you think we will?
Do you think Florida will before we are?
If you don't think mentality matters much, then you need to reevaluate. Probably everything.

Attitude matters...to people who have an affect on the outcome. That's the part you need to grasp.

Haven't you heard? It's 2015, everyone matters.

OSU will only be because they play a major cupcake schedule.
Bama may be because that university has thrown more money into that program than anything on the planet.
Bama is very similar to USA when it comes to spending. I mean Bama spends more on football then the next however many teams combined while USA spends more on military than the next 10 countries combined.
Is it necessary? Probably not. Do they have the best program and military year in and year out? Yes
It's all a matter oh how much your willing to spend to get what you want. Some teams can stay competitive without breaking the bank which is all they want.

I don't get why this is so hard for some people to grasp.

Hahaha not so much... Figured I rather be myself then try to make everyone on the board like me. Learned that if you don't have people who don't like you your doing something right on this board. I'll just stick to the stuff I know hahaha.

My question, though, was would LSU be as quick to push Richt out the door if he had Miles record.
I don't think so.

I would agree.
Just think if Richt had Miles record at UGA. He would be so entrenched he would never be removed and that probably the case anyway.
