Didn't play much and was behind 2 other freshmen that had just been moved from the defense.
Stec could really use his contacts with Mizzou to get a few of these guys that leave Mizzou. That's how the good FCS to do it, they usually have several FBS transfers.

While you hate to see a guy leave, he didn't play much and got passed up by other freshman. We were also his only D1 offer, so this is an example of one of those times our evaluation system has missed on a diamond in the rough.

Had a lot of hope for him based on reports out of last years camp. Oh well. Just gotta get some positive movement somewhere for the program.
Between him and smith leaving, not a good sign of the current locker room

His mom went to Mizzou and early reports on him said he was always a Mizzou fan.
Sounds like he had some good camps, scrimmages, and practices.
Guess we won't get to see what he could have done. It ain't like he was backing up high draft picks. Would have liked to see him get a few series.

I heard also that he looked pretty good during preseason camps and scrimmages. Abbington has looked pretty decent when he has had his few carries, plus their are rumors he might transfer after the season.

Stay tuned!!!

That would be an interesting move. Considering he could win the starting RB job in the spring. Seems he would have to transfer down to avoid another year of redshirting

If I were Abbington, I'd have a come to Jesus meeting with my position coach and Pinkel. And I'd have to strongly consider transferring.

Like wubilli said, he would have a good chance at starting RB. Transferring would be a mistake, IMHO. He can beat Ish and we need him badly.
But a heart-to-heart with the boss men should help all.
Just a symptom of a program in trouble. HCGP needs to put in some OT.

Abbington's biggest mistakes were not getting his academics taken care of before summer, and coming into fall camp out of shape.
If he stays I think he has a good chance to be a starter next year. It's just hard to move up the depth chart in season, without injuries.

Josh Augusta showed up fat and out of shape too, but wasn't kept in the doghouse permanently.
Meanwhile Ish Witter continues to be a fricking joke while Abbington still can't get looks.
Unless I get straight answers from HCGP & staff, I'm following Richard out the door.

FIFY
Josey says hi, IF we lose Abbington that is a huge hit, just cannot fathom the love this staff has for Witter.

And sit out an entire year? By the time he would get to play for another team, he could be the man here.

We've had injuries. And Witter is in front of him. If I were him, I would be concerned that the coaches didn't value him as a RB.

Or he could be stranded in 3rd string land with no eligibility.

I'm not sure a kid who was not playing at all and being passed by younger players leaving says anything about the locker room.
Good luck to him, but it opens up another scholarship. No worries on our end.

You are following Richard out the door then sitting out another year and going somewhere new with one year to play. That would be pretty stupid. He's better off working his arse off this offseason and doing what the coaches want him to do because the starting spot is up for grabs.
Augusta is not in any way comparable.

You missed the part about smith too

Hopefully some other dead weight will follow suit.
