I don't think that overall record, bowl records or championships really factor into what makes a coaching job valuable.
We have better facilities. We have better fan support. We play in a better conference and are in a better position in our conference. Maryland is in their 2nd or 3rd year in the big 10ish and was been a doormat every year.
And recruiting is a push at best. USC is in a great position to recruit the DC and Tidewater area of Virginia thanks to 1-95 and a ton of students come down for school already. Plus USC is in better position to recruit GA, FL and NC.

I didn't mean to sound like an alter. I see the benefits of coaching in the SEC.I hope both SC and UMD finds a good coach. I lived in both Georgia and Maryland and I found the DMV area to be awesome but I do see why coaches would want to go to Scar- because of the recent history, SEC conference, and facilities.

I feel like everytime I watch a Maryland game the stadium is never full, the mood is subdued, and the team is flat. The entire experience seems crummy.

There is also nice places to see like the Smithsonian, Washington Monument, Lincoln memorial, etc. I am sure coaches and their family would like to take a weekend off to see the nation's capital.
Show me a coach who takes this into consideration, and I'll show you a coach I don't want on my sideline.

Md has zero chance of ever winning the B1G East..USCe has won the SEc East...much easier task. They will probably make the same amount of $$.

South Carolina job vs Maryland Job- which is better?
SC by a lot, it's not even close. We have more $, bigger stadium, better facilities, higher ceiling, better competition, etc...y'all will find out soon enough if you make some guy you're #1 target for HC and we decide we want him.

Why did Maryland ever leave the ACC in the first place?

Maryland easily. The ceo of Under Armor is Kevin Plank who played for Md. He is pouring millions into Md program like Nike did for Oregon.

Lolol so being a better job than Maryland means we're acting like South Carolina is Bama or LSU?

The main reason the Carolina job is better, to me, is simply Maryland will always be a basketball school first and foremost.
Tell the truth I am looking forward to when some of those B-10 schools get built up again.

I highly doubt Maryland is going to pay as much as SC.
