I wish for once we would be equal on both sides of the ball.
They might both suck.
how bouts we change it to. "We wish for once we would be equally great on both sides of the ball"?

We are the fricking unluckiest program in FBS.
Not exactly. Every program has these issues. We just don't have the coaching to overcome it. We should win 7 games every year. Every now and then we should have a veteran team that has a chance to be REALLY good. This year was that year and our coaches lost to Toledo, had the team poorly prepared, and repeatedly made awful decisions late in games.

And there's the next year post. New QB and retooling the O Line will then be the excuse
I went ahead and trotted out next year's excuse along with the "there's always next year" post
But seriously, it wasn't just an always next year post. We expected to win 8 or 9 games this year. 7 or 8 is still possible and realistic, so it's not like everything has gone to shite like we originally thought. It's just been a weird season. We're not as good as we were in '14. We had reason and hope to believe we would be better, much of that reason coming from the smoke blown by the media, and certainly not least of all, our HC (although I was never on the bandwagon that we would replace our defensive starters and not miss a beat). That hope is still valid for next year. We've had a receiving game emerge from our fourth string, and we may return Hatcher on top of it.
This defense isn't as good as it was last year. It's still better or as good than any defense any other coach we've had since being in the SEC has fielded. I know my previous post was typical Arkansas, but nothing I said was all that much of a reach. We have theoretical talent at QB - as much or more as any of the "stacked" blue bloods, and there's more reason to be hopeful than doubtful.
He's going to be here for another two years whether any of us like it or not. You may as well look for the positives, and if you don't let your emotions get the better of you, you'll find you don't have to strain your eyes to find some of the obvious ones.

Anybody melting over this game is ridiculous. If you cant see what is happening you just dont want to see it
Posted on 10/11/15 at 8:07 am to lefty08
agreed. like I said I'm encouraged and really I'm happiest about the pass rush and red zone defense.

We will still have 4 star players all across the front of the o-line next year and we're supposed to have the best OL coach in football so we shouldn't drop off much.
One reason is because our level this year is not as high as it should be.

I'm just curious... Is there a college football program that CAN'T find SOMETHING positive to console them?

We may have (statistically) one of the best red zone defenses in college football.
The obvious problem is that we have one of the worst red zone offenses in college football.

every team that loses a game tries to find a positive in the loss.
no point in dwelling on the negative you can't control, unless you enjoy being depressed.

Why do you post here?
Posted on 10/11/15 at 10:44 am to Stonehog
To piss you off, obviously. Definitely not because I love the Hogs.
Posted on 10/11/15 at 10:48 am to ocelot4ark
Couldn't you love the hogs quietly and spare the rest of us from your shite posts?
Posted on 10/11/15 at 11:51 am to Stonehog
I could, sure. Would you like that, delicate little flower? Put your mommy on the computer so I can apologize for having an OPINION. How dare I.
Edit: telling people not to post because they disagree with the community narrative sounds VERY Hogville'ish, FYI. But I guess that's pretty easy to figure out.

I'm looking for the block feature for you and I've never blocked anyone on any site ever. you are still melting a day later over a game we was supposed to lose. I RA'D for retard.

Define fricking melting. Define it. Go. What am I doing that's fricking melting? Anyone? Go.
Edit: I never even "melted" because we lost. I'm convinced of strategy decisions that are an indicator of how Bert runs a team which is a culmination of 3 years of evidence. I bitched about his stupid trick plays his very first year. It has nothing to do with LOSING, it's not having faith that he has the mind to lead us anywhere but 8 or 9 win seasons.

Some of the sunshine pumping I've seen in these threads is comical. Moral victories and excuses abound. We're 2-4 and will be lucky to get where we were last year. So we beat Tennessee that's not the Tennessee of old on the road and hung with Alabama before predictably folding like a cheap tent in the fourth quarter. Like some of the other folks have been saying we're just Arkansas so we should only reasonably expect to have a good year every now and then, you know a normal season would be maybe winning the cupcake games and be good for a couple of upsets along the way, that is winning a couple we weren't projected to win. Also playing teams better than we are and losing to them in close contests is okay, too. It's quite the bar we've set for our program. Predicting mediocrity doesn't make mediocrity okay.
I think what happens in two weeks when we play Auburn at home will say a lot about the state of our program and its future when the two bottom dwellers of the SEC West square off. I know it takes time and all that and it is what it is but I'm not really optimistic about anything. This isn't saying Bielema should go as he's probably with us at least another year and it will be interesting to see what they can do with the games that are left. But I damned sure don't have my rose colored glasses on. What I've been seeing so far this year doesn't make me excited about anything. Regardless what happens the rest of the season there's always next season and as we are always telling ourselves we can surely look forward to that.

I'm higher on Bert than you are (though I'm pretty angry at how this season has turned out), but I agree with the above. Gus has pretty much lost his team and looks like he's fighting for his coaching life right now. We'll always be his super bowl, but if we can't beat them at home with two weeks to prepare and get healthy, then I don't fricking know what to think anymore.
