Most definitely not. That formatting almost makes me seizure every time I pop in to visit.
I realize that I am in the minority in my opinion of our conference affiliation. But that has very little to do with my criticism of "tryhards" and bandwagon fans.
My distaste for people who act differently from one day to the next still stands. Don't try to fit in, be yourself.

You are just a sour puss KC type that is still arse chapped that the Mizzou world doesnt revolve around KC anymore.

No adjustment at all. I was Mizzou when Mizzou wasn't cool!
I never interacted with fan bases from other schools on the Internet, while in Big 8 or 12. Obviously, finding this forum changed that experience. SEC fans may crave that more. Also interesting how many non SEC fans lurk or post here.

Whooaa!
I'm sure KC merchants and Mizzou supporting residents miss the BB tourney, but most fans relished the move to SEC.

I agree. There are always exceptions. Its not a secret how this poster feels about the move so Im not just throwing spit balls.

I'm really happy to be in the SEC, but I still can't help but watch Big8-Big12 games. I emphatically hate Cow, ZeroU, and Corn. That hatred doesn't exist for any SEC teams. Maybe I can learn to hate others as well, in time.

It's hard to adjust when you don't what to adjust to. Grew up in the Big 8 era. That still feels like home no matter how much suckage there was.
I am glad we moved out of the big 12. Texas drug that conference into the shite hole. I'm glad we went to the SEC rather than the big 10. I think Mizzou does fit better in the big 10 than the SEC. But I also think the SEC was better for Mizzou in the long run.

The day we joined, it is nice to get a little bit of Missouri news down here in South AR not to mention be able to see them on TV. Big 12 football was/is a non entity down in these parts. Plus I get to talk shite to Arky fans now and there is a chance to let things play out on the field and court. Love it!!

I was all in from the moment the rumors started.
I always hated the Big 12. I hated everything about it, from the venues, to the shitty television deal, to the arrogance of the big 3.
It all sucked.
Sure the SEC has its blue bloods and shite, but they are not nearly as annoying as Nebraska/OU/Texas fan. Dealing with those three fanbases was exhausting. Not to mention the ugly Kansas rivalry.
I'm just glad it's all over. It was a shitty marriage, rife with hate and resentment, and we've moved on to a hot broad with a bunch of crazy inlaws.

I'm pretty far away, but it happened pretty quickly for me. I signed up for the Rant the day we officially joined the conference and it's all downhill since then.
I get a lot more bantering from other SEC schools than I ever did from B12 schools when I'm out and about with Mizzou stuff on. It makes it nice out here on this desert island.

Everything he said. Plus, growing up in southeast Missouri, with family from Arkansas, we watched more SEC (and SWC) football than anything else. Those were the teams on TV, and the teams we were interested in. I couldn't be more pleased with the move. Feels like home to me, and did at our first conference game when Georgia came to town. Love it, and I think it was exactly the right move for Mizzou.

My freshman year was Mizzou's last year in the Big 12. Even then, everything immediately became so SEC-centric upon the announcement that it's almost like I never went to a Big 12 school at all. I'm in my 5th year which means that I spent one year at a Big 12 school and four years at an SEC school.
I've been to 6 Big 12 Mizzou football games, and 14 SEC Mizzou football games.
I've been to roughly 7 Big 12 Mizzou basketball games, and about 21 SEC basketball games.
I've been to 0 Big 12 events for all the other sports, and probably close to a dozen of those same sports since joining the SEC.
Point being, I think my age group will ultimately be the first to identify with the SEC without even thinking about the Big 12. I of course was a die-hard Mizzou fan from birth through high school while we were in the Big 12, but 80% of my time actually at Mizzou we've been in the SEC.
To answer your question though, I think in retrospect the single defining point where I felt I had fully adjusted to the SEC was after driving to Atlanta last December for the 2014 SEC Championship versus Alabama. I would have never drove 13 hours for a Big 12 game. Driving all that way, going to SEC fan-fest, being in the Georgia dome surrounded by crazy Bama fans, listening to them chant rammer-jammer as we filed out of the stadium after the final whistle.....that's when it became real for me. That's when Mizzou became a full-fledged member of the SEC to me. As far as I'm concerned, that was my "initiation ceremony" into SEC fanhood.

That game was a monsoon that year. That was a rough night when the Cardinals blew a late lead in NLDS, and Tigers wasted a 12-0 second half lead.

Define " sour puss KC type". Kind of like the sour grapes that cry about not getting a Mizzou FB game in the lou? Disapointment is a long ways from sour grapes. Never once have I heard anyone saying they will no longer be a fan because of the move.

Chanting conference affiliation now, but never did it previously. Very similar breed to the "bandwagoners" IMO
If everyday someone thrusts the business end of a broken bottle up my arse, I'm not going to tout the proficiency with which they do it. Thus, my lack of Big 12 outerwear.
