New NCAA Academic Requirements start in 2016 - Which SEC team gets hurt most?

Starting August 1, 2016, all incoming freshmen student athletes must have a 2.3 GPA in core classes or serve a required academic redshirt year. Here are the requirements, according to USAFootball...
"Here are the core courses all incoming NCAA freshmen athletes will be assessed on:
Four years of English.
Four years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher).
Two years of natural/physical science, including year of lab if offered by the high school.
One year of additional English, mathematics or natural/physical science.
Two years of social science.
Four years of additional courses – can come from foreign language or comparative religion/philosophy.
Here is another caveat to think about: It is required that 10 out of 16 courses be taken prior to the start of senior year. This means athletes can’t retake these courses to enhance a GPA over time or put off the courses until the end of a high school career."
So... What does tRant think? Which SEC team will be most affected by the new rules?

Not Alabama or LSU, they'll just ignore the rules.

Well, that sucks.
I guess we'll see a lot more juco transfers going forward.

The Mississippi schools.

But are they required to be able to read? LSU fans are anxious to know.

Has Auburn ever lost a great player due to Academic probation? Ever? LSU has lost several.

I'm for it.
I would also be in favor of not letting dummies play at all.

What does that have to do with this thread, dipshit.
We're talking about academic requirements, and your fellow lil'bro decided to bring up Alabama and LSU, I merely brought up his hypocrisy.
Keep up, or GTFO.

Alabama would be in trouble in that case.

What strikes me most is that the athlete can't use the time-honored tradition of using electives to strengthen their GPA - it's GPA in core classes. Math. Science. Foreign Language. ENGLISH...
Bunch of schools could be screwed.

Is this is one of those threads where everyone calls every school but their own a dumbass except for Vanderbilt who doesn't have any posters here because they don't have time for message boards?

If true, then it will effect every school. Personally, i think this rule is discriminatory against athletes.

Oh, it's true. It was announced in 2014, and takes effect for the 2016 season. ESPN had a segment on it today. They want to force freshmen who don't meet that academic requirement to focus on their grades for a year. During the automatic academic redshirt season, the player can practice with the team, but not play.
Lotta players may be going the juco route.
