How far away is "The Junction" and is there anything there to see? We are flying into College Station, got a really good fare. Staying at a Marriott property, got it on points almost a year ago.
I hear the band halftime show will be something not to be forgotten.
BTW the new stadium looks amazing...glad we will miss the bats!

The only "The Junction" I know of are a student housing complex and an in reach program at Central Baptist.

Glad you're coming and hope you have a great time. I don't know which Marriott your going to be staying at but all the action will be in Northgate on the north side of University Dr at what once was the NW corner of the campus. I recommend Koppe Bridge on Wellborn Rd for a great burger, Cafe Eccel on Texas Ave about a half mile south of University for an upscale place, The Fox & Hound for good bar food and a large selection of draft beer on University Dr about 3 blocks east of Texas Ave, and The Tap on Harvey Rd a few blocks east of Texas Ave for the largest selection of draft beer. If you're into real Mexican food Cafe Del Sol at MLK and Texas Ave in Bryan is an awesome hole in the wall joint and LA Familia on Texas just north of Downtown Bryan for TexMex.

Nothing there you would want to see. Highly recommend stopping by the Memorial Student Center and talking a look around a few hours before the game. Very likely will see Stallings walking around shaking hands and taking photos with fans from both schools. Will be some games on in the flag room. Worth a visit and it is a 2 minute walk from North end of Kyle field. If you have any kids they might get a kick out of watching the band march down the street on the East Side of the stadium.

Hope you enjoy yourself... just not too much.

Honestly, no. nothing.

It is different than almost anyone else. No one gets concessions for the first part of halftime :)

Welcome!

Welcome! College Station has changed so much since my days there, but I will give my $.02.

Wings and More on University is still our favorite place to eat. For a good burger, the Chicken Oil Co is the same as the Dixie Chicken but less crowded. On Gameday, the Memorial Student Center (MSC) is a must. The Corps March In two hours before the game is also a must for first time visitors. Also, go to the Corps of Cadets center if you have a few more minutes to kill.

Welcome and have a great time!

Staying at the Residence Inn.

The Cafe Del Sol or La Familia sound like they something we would like. Which has the best Margaritas?

I like to go to the places that Alumni always go back to when they are in town. When traveling to football games I don't look for fancy, I want tradition, it's all about the tradition, and those are generally the best places anyway. I was so excited the first time I could legally take my daughter to "Nicks in the Sticks" for a filet and a Zombie. It is a dive in the sticks that is in an old gas station. When I say old, I mean old. It was an old gas station when I was in Tuscaloosa and I am really old!

Thank would be amazing! He is such a gentleman and is a favorite of Tide fans. He used to talk about the 90 year old grandmother that he always called on her birthday. That was my grandmother. I have the autograph he gave her framed. However my daughter stole it.

I don't drink anymore and when I did I didn't drink margaritas so I can't help you with that one. You also have Casa Rodriguez in downtown Bryan for TexMex in a place that isn't a hole in the wall. Across the street from Del Sol is Fargo's BBQ which is awesome but if you want to go where the alumni go for BBQ then you need to go to Martin's on South College, BBQ is good but don't be in any hurry if you go there Mrs. Betty and crew aren't very fast when it comes to service but the German potatoes make up for it.

There are some way better Mexican food places in Bryan. La Perla tacos is really good but they are too Mexican/ghetto for most out of towners. I only recommend going with a local or if you are feeling lucky. Definitely no margaritas, just caguamas and bud light. Shady location, but best tacos in town though.

Stay away from Taqueria Arandas. They are terrible.

If the food comes in a red plastic basket, it shouldn't be recommended to guests.
A quick lunch for natives and/or college kids is a different story.
Just another opinion.

I'm not saying it's the finest dining option in the station, but in terms of wings I've never had any better, and they're wings, I'm not expecting fine dinnerware.

Now, if you go to wings n more and order anything other than wings, you are a damn fool.

With all the good places to eat, Wingz and More seems a little meh.

You want a nice steak, go to The Republic
You want BBQ, Fargos is the only acceptable answer
You want a burger, Koppe Bridge tops the Chicken or Chicken Oil.
You want Mexican, CocoLoco is the best local joint, but its a hole in the wall.
You wants bars then North Game is the place to be. over 2 dozen bars all together. You want off NG bars then I think the tap is your best choice.
You want wings, I prefer wing stop for taste, but I wouldn't go there as a visitor coming for a game.
You want pizza, Antonio's (on NG) , Mr G's in downtown Bryan, or Blue Baker. Blue Baker is always the answer for soups, sandwiches, bagels, breads, and cookies.
You want fine dining, I already mentioned The Republic, but Christopher's is a favorite as well.
What else could you want... ? Wine, we have a winery in Bryan called Messina Hoff.... I'm out of ideas.
