We could always just fine and jail people who hire illegals taking away all their jobs which would greatly decrease their desire to come here. But i guess that is way too practical and doesnt steal enough tax payer money.

Or we could just give them amnesty, and start make them pay whatever taxes they aren't already. This would dramatically increase the price of labor, and make it less economical for people to come over. The maid/day laborers would start costing way more.
Bigger thieves than illegal Mexicans are the Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, and whatever Asian group you can think of. Asian immigration already surpassed Mexican immigration 5 years ago. They bring over their families, run cash only businesses, avoid huge tax bills, educate their children denying the lazy americans of the education they paid for. Indian, middle eastern, eastern European, it's all the same.

Giving up cheap maid service and lawn care is something I'd be willing to give up. The costs would be minuscule in comparison to the free support illegals get

Which is what we should have been doing all along, but the government basically winked and nodded as businesses that rely on manual labor continued to do it.

Except not really. There are 16 million laborers making wages that are only livable beneath the tax threshold. Above that are shady small business owners from the rest of the immigrants from Asia. They occupy another labor force. All of this leads to an economy that is occupied by the rest of us. Get out of the US and travel. We don't want $18 minimum wage where no one actually works. Our system works better than anyone realizes.

Canada issues 6-month work permits. Laborers from Mexico fly in, work, collect their wages and then fly back to Mexico and apply for another 6-month permit. Their families stay in Mexico and everybody is happy. Why wouldn't that work for us?

We already do this, look it up, it isn't cheap if you get caught knowingly using illegal immigrants on your workforce. They must supply you with proof of immigration status or citizenship. You want to cut down on the illegal workers who use false and forged documents go ahead but you will be costing the government in tax revenue because those individuals pay in income tax yet get no refunds because they can't.

I see illegals every day mowing lawns, cleaning houses, working for restaurants. Do you know there are certain laws for illegally hunting birds and wild game where the government can take your gun and even your truck. Now thats a fine that makes people think twice about doing something like that. If you really want to solve the problem thats what you have to do. Give a years grace period so companies have a chance to put together a game plan then start fining people so hard they cant stay in business after being caught more than once. Putting them in jail giving them a record. There is a tipping point where the risk is no longer worth the reward and thats what you have to hit.

I dont have a personal opinion on rather they should be kicked out or not. I just know that stealing more tax payer money isnt a solution to fixing it. They are also stealing tax payer money by going into hospitals and using our healthcare system. Thats not necessary the immigrants blame but more the employers and governments system blame for allowing these immigrants situation to be exploited and not properly compensated. And then of course there is the issue that it increases welfare since it takes away jobs that would be filled by legals of low economic and educational status.

So report the employers, we jump thru a lot of hoops to ensure that every non US born individual working for us is legally doing so, do we miss one or two, yeah sometimes mainly because the people forging the docs are really damn good and it's hard to disprove. We follow the laws that are in place and believe me there are stiff fines for having illegal workers on the payroll. The bigger problem in my opinion are the legal immigrants who receive aid to open businesses and don't report cash transactions they are robbing the US Government blind.
