When I say deserve, I mean based off talent and career expectations. You're arguing with me about something that I, as a whole, agree with you on. It would not surprise me one bit that either of these rb's go top 10, or one go top 5. That speaks to the volume of talent and value, in my opinion.
I would be extremely surprised if either are the top 5 and mildly surprised if they went top 10. I agree w/Tela that you really must not remember how good AP was in college and he was only drafted at 7. RBs just aren't taken high bc NFL teams do not project them to last very long based on years of data that shows they wash out faster than most other positions.

If you're trying to say bama' current RB is better than LF because of a 12 yard difference, you're a joke. LF is faster and stronger than Henry and went against a better defense in Miss St compared to Wisky
Wisconsin's defense held their cupcake to 0 points last night.
LF was actually RB A. He has 12 more yards than Henry playing similar competition. Only difference is that it took him an extra 15 carries to get those 12 yards.

Ah, I can't hate you. You're still my e-friend.

Peterson averaged 5.4 YPC in the big 12. He rushed 340 times as a freshman against defenses like aTm. I mean, he was good, but his next two seasons were average.

Actually, those extra 15 carries hurt his average because MSU was onto us. Our coaches refused to open up the offense, but instead continued to run Fournette up the middle against 10 man fronts. This strategy almost cost us the game.
My suspicion is that you didn't watch LSU play last night.

Plus Peterson still thinks a switch is an appropriate parenting device

I didn't even see the game last night. I'm just fricking around. This is going to be a weird season.

RC, I agree with you about the NFL drafting rb's but you keep stating it like I'm arguing that. What I'm speaking to is the talent and value that LF and Chubb, in particular, have.

Both are great.
I guess I would pick Chubb, but I live in Georgia and he looked at AU so I'm biased.
Fournette is legit. So is Henry.
I really liked the RBs from KY last night as well.

1) Peterson's incredible freshman season was aided by the Sooner's high powered passing attack led by Jason White (Remember him? He won the Heisman once because he put up gaudy TD numbers). Peterson never ran into 9-10 man fronts like Fournette has done every game in his LSU career.
2) Peterson did get injured his sophomore year. I believe that slowed down his overall productivity not only that year, but also the next (his final year in college).

Chubb is better between the tackles and has great vision inside.
LF has that homerun ability , Chubb doesn't . He's gotten run down/ angle taken on him quite a few times , including yesterday I think he loses speed on long runs. The long run he had Michele or Marshall would have housed it.
LF has that video game ability, Chunb is built to be a workhorse. Neither ha high in draft though, not because they don't deserve it; but the league is not an every down back league anymore.

I don't get how throwing up zero on a cupcake makes a difference. Points against, the defenses are only separated by 6 spots.
SEC D>>> BIG ten D. Hell, LSU threw up 28 on them. Not exactly intimidating
Besides, Wisconsin doesn't have a front line as dominant as Miss. St.'s (see Chris Jones). Plus Bama had the benefit of an offense that was multi-dimensional. Miss St knew LF was running up the gut over half of his attempts and still rushed more than Henry. Plus, he's faster and stronger than Henry. Your conformational bias is blinding you from the eye test

So we have two guys who didn't watch Fournette play last night coming in here throwing his stat line at us and saying that Derrick Henry is better?
Jesus. If you had watched the game you would have seen Fournette do some things out there that Henry can only dream about. Just google the spin move, for god's sake.
Oh, and shut the frick up. I'm done.

3 questions for the board.
Who do you think has a better shot to win the heisman?
quote:Chubb, because I think Fournette might get used up in college
Who do you think will have a better NFL career?
quote:Fournette
Who do you think is the better back?
Leonard Fournette is a Herschel Walker/Earl Campbell type of guy, and there's a definite danger that his body will wear down by the end of his career. I think he does end up leading LSU to a title game appearance before his college career is over, but in doing so, he might lose 3-4 years off the back end of his pro career due to heavy touches.

I've said nothing against their value or talent. You're the one that keeps ignoring that their value and talent means diddly when it comes to NFL drafting practices.
Again, it would be stunning if either was drafted top 5 and surprising if either goes top 10. It just isn't very likely at all and it matters not how good they are.

I watched most of it. Fournette is good. Don't get me wrong, but for him to be compared to AP and saying that he has a good chance of going #1 overall in the draft in 2017 and is better than any Alabama RB ever is downright delusional.
You hear Heisman talk from LSU fans for a RB who is statistically third in tSEC. I haven't heard much Heisman talk with Henry among tGumps, and I read a lot of our boards. Henry and Fournette are having similar years, with the edge currently going to Henry based on YPC.

So I guess the real question is if LF was on Bama's team who would be starting and vise versa.
