No, he doesn't. He's an idiot. The U.S. Supreme Court also makes pronouncements on what constitutes cruel and unusual punishment in criminal cases, but that doesn't render state courts incompetent to sentence criminals.

Umm.. because they defined what they could and could not sentence them to as defined by their ruling.

This ^. He's being childish. He's being spiteful because the Supremes determined that marriage as a civil right extends to gays. So does divorce.
