Does anyone have a link to the quote some homie posted earlier about Jimbo only leaving for UA or LSU?
It was an interview before FSU gave him his extension. Don't recall UA being mentioned though

Agreed. It is a wash. The only advantage FSU has over LSU is the weaker conference. Easier path to the title

talent than Louisiana and Georgia is right next door.
How many teams compete in those two states for talent? Texas has more talent than Ga, and more if not even to FL. The big advantage though is if Les is retiring Saban is likely already retired or turning it in as well. LSU will have rebuild relationships in North La.

My favorite coach in College Football. Seems to put Football in its proper position in life.

It goes to show how much of a "what have you done for me lately" mindset there is in CFB. Until Winston came along FSU was a perennial joke as that team that was always a preseason top 5 only to lose two or three with no explanation. Jimbo has consistently underwhelmed with top recruiting classes even when going undefeated in the ACC was akin to a pillow fight. Not only that, but the way Winston talked down to him on the sideline and the numerous off the field issues surrounding that program lead me to believe he would get eaten alive in the SEC West.

LSU vs FSU football programs
FSU has the edge when both Miami and Florida are down. They become An elite tier1 program when this occurs and will challenge for Natl titles.
When 1 of the 2 is viable LSU gains the edge. When the other 2 are elite FSU is just another team.

Lane kiffin to LSU. Calling it now
if there's anybody that want Les Miles to retire it's gotta be the aggies. Sumlin would love it; he can't figure LSU out. he looks at the stats the day after the LSU game and it must blow his mind.
of course, your troll isn't gonna work. I seriously doubt that Kiffin would even get an interview at LSU. we can pay for a successful HC and will.

all 3 have been elite at the same time, but i get what youre saying, lsus place in a state like louisiana is appealing.

its definitely an attractive job, but it looks like a lateral move. maybe even a small step down.

I hope Les stays 10 more years. He's been good for that program. Les Miles is the face of LSU and I can't imagine what the program looks like without him. Plus, we never know what he's going to say next which keeps it entertaining.

This.
LSU is an elite job, but when you take it you know you are entering an absolute bloodbath.
ACC is a way easier path.

lsu fans misinterpret this as him saying he's coming to lsu next. these fans probably still are certain saban is waiting to retire at lsu.

This is what is great about him.
He's grounded and kind of laughs at the spectacle of it all.
And also trolls the shite out of the media .
He can be frustrating but he recruits his arse off and is the face of the program.
The SEC and LSU are better with him around.

Don't forget about all those contacts jimbo would still have in florida.
Just like all those LA contacts some coach has in LA even though he doesn't coach in LA anymore.

I thought he'd retire in 3 seasons when this past season ended, but with the way LSU is currently recruiting I think he's good for 5 more years realistically.
By that time he will be far and away the winningest coach in school history, his kids will have all graduated; he'll be worth like 40-50 mill; and he's just not the type of guy to coach until he's nursing home bound. Les just seems like someone who would prefer enjoying retirement and his fat stacks of cash.
I thin Jimbo to LSU is a definite possibility when you factor in his love for LSU, and the key fact that as a college football coach he's going to want to win conference and national titles in what everyone knows is the pinnacle of competition. He could easily just go the route of "wanting a new challenge" in 5 seasons.

I think LSU will look towards an assistant coach with no previous HCing experience who wants to prove himself and land a bigger job at a ND or OSU or Bama
J/k!!!!
I can guarantee whoever it is will cause serious grief for LSU fans who wanted a bigger fish.
