Has anyone ever driven to a game without tickets and been stymied?

Texas has no laws against reselling tickets. Unlike in New York tickets here are like apples, cars, radios, whatever. Buy them and sell them. That's capitalism. I'm pretty sure it's the same pretty much all over the south. However some private schools forbid the reselling of tickets on their properties. My dad and his buddy once took off to a Rice game and ended up having to walk a mile and buy their tickets in a 7-Eleven parking lot off campus.

Are there any stadiums in the SEC where you can't openly peddle tickets?

Have any of you ever opted to head to a game without tickets and then found yourselves SOL because of 'scalping' rules enforcement?

No but have gone and come up empty because prices were outrageous. If I can't find a ticket for 100 bucks I don't need to see it live.

Just the opposite. We drove 13 hours to Omaha without tickets for the championship series. Figured out the lottery and actually made money on extra tickets - both games. I sat behind home plate for the 2nd game. Is this a football thread or can I talk baseball for a moment?

Bama/Georgia Blackout game. Even after kickoff, nothing less than $200 in the upper bowl, and a sea of fingers above the crowd. I heard too much cheering, and ran to the strip to find a bar. I was shocked to find out it was only Bama fans making that much noise.

Luckily I had a family reunion in Atlanta the next day, so it wasn't a wasted trip. But I'm not sure how the newly introduced family liked my hat.

Any event where it's tough to find a ticket is fine. Just don't mention regular season games.

If I take my time to travel to a game, I'm paying whatever it takes to get in.

2011 vs tu it was insane how many were waiting around north gate hoping someone, anyone would come along with tickets and price was not an obstacle

I told my kid sister (class of 99) that had I known how shitty that game would have ended I would have sold our tickets for a grand and just gotten trashed at the chicken

I've gotten into every single game I've ever wanted to attend at face value.

I've never had to pay even close to Face for any LSU game, including SEC games. Tickets are numerous outside Tiger Stadium on game day...........
