Sumlin whipped Bret without Johnny Football. And has never lost to Arky.
Sherman never beat Arky.
Sherman never beat Arky.

Playcaller...I haven't seen another one better.
I wouldn't even say that. He may be the best there is with vertical passing games, but that's about it.

And don't be mad at me Liccious
It's a legit topic, I admit it's not fair to Bret since Petrino has a much easier path against weaker competition.

Petrino is the better coach.
If the only job for being a head coach was developing an offense, you may be right.

I don't think it is a legit topic, but if you want a serious answer, I'll say he did about the same. The difference is that doing it in the SEC is far more impressive then in C-USA.

He did about the same......
You mean you think he'll do about the same? Right?

No, I mean he did do about the same. I think he'll have it harder at Louisville this time, then he did before. He's winning now with Strong's players, but when they're gone, he'll struggle with recruiting.

Petrino probably has an easier path to a bowl each year. The ACC is a decent conference, but there is pretty big drop off after the top two.

Offense, offense, offense. Funny how 4 years later Petrino's aversion to defense is ignored. As far as having a balanced program, Bert blows him away. I'd rather have an okay offense (being conservative) and a very good defense. Bert's teams will never score as much as Bobby's at Arkansas...or at least not with the same firepower or downfield plays. But his offense is just fine for this conference as long as the defense keeps up its trajectory.

Et tu Old Sarge? Et tu?
Fine. Lets go there.
Yes, Petrino will, if he stays at Louisville, most likely have more conference wins. Probably not more big bowl games.
So... TCU and Baylor. The whipping boys of the state of Texas. The guys hanging out with Rice in the glory days of the SWC. Will they have more conference wins then the Aggies? Go to better bowls?
Will Houston have more conference wins then the Aggies?
You probably don't have to worry too much about Texas State and UTSA. Though both programs should do just fine where they are once they get on track.
It is easy to pick your shots. If the Aggies win more conference games then Baylor or TCU next year... well then feel free to walk real proud and talk real loud.

In the only common opponent last year (Georgia), Bielema outscored Petrino. And he started with a total rebuilding job, while Petrino inherited a successful team.
Petrino's offense sucks against teams with good D-Line pressure, and that is why he will never win anything.

Sarge.. Really>?
Sumlin has such a better recruiting base, more $$$, a much larger stadium (although bat feces is a problem) and the swag copter. Yes, he has beat Arkansas (during the most down time in 25 years) and with all of the above, what exactly has he accomplished? His players do as they wish (JFF) and show no respect, and he has male cheerleaders to give him massages.

He's also better than all SEC coaches not named Saban!
So yes.
So yes.

Well Sneaky P won a BCS bowl, something Bert failed to do 3 times.
