I don't even see how this is a question. Florida is the school in their state and they have shown they can get as many top players out of Florida as anyone.

Not only is A&M the little brother behind Texas, but they have historically had problems winning recruiting battles for top Texas kids even against out of state schools like Oklahoma and LSU. You can add Alabama to that list in recent years

Doesn't have to be an either/or situation.
Both programs are pretty great and will likely continue to get bigger and better.

Where do some of you get this stuff?
Do you just make it up, or is it simply a function of repeating the urban legends you've seen posted on this board?
Makes you wonder if many of you have ever left the LA/MS/AL corridor.

Nope. Florida because it's easier to win in the East.

The advantage in recruiting comes by recruiting kids that grew up fans of your own school. There is no way in hell any Aggie can convince me that the majority of kids in Texas grow up Aggies. This is part of the reason Aggies alleged advantages are overstated in my opinion

Texas A&M basically has the potential to reach the level UF is already at.

So UF. But A&M has huge unrealized upside. UF, especially when improved, is easily one of the most desirable athletic departments in the country to be involved with.

I'll take it a step further.

I think it's important to the future of the SEC that A&M realizes it's potential and starts winning big. Otherwise, every sumbitch from Soonerville and Austin will think they have a shot to worm their way into the league to try to wipe the karma stink off their programs.

A strong A&M permanently marginalizes the UT and OU programs in the state of Texas.

I think you answered your own question. The road in the east has little bearing, because you still have to win the SECCG.

Florida for sure. Program has a history of winning championships and is in the recruiting hot bed.

At some point, they will get another coach that will take them back to the top.
Yep. Pretty easy.

Florida, we have a proven record of being the premier or at worst 1A/1B school in the conference (and our own state) whenever we have a good coach, when has TAMU had a run of sustained success in the last 40 years-- like say being a Top 15 program consistently for even 4 out of 5 years in that stretch.

TAMU will never be the top program in their own state for any long period of time, that's always going to be Texas barring an SMU level NCAA hit. Among the also rans they're going to be in a dog fight with whichever one of the minor powers (lower than TAMU prestigewise but close enough to matter) has a good coach-- currently their behind Baylor and TCU, 10 years ago they were behind Texas Tech, etc.

Well, with Texas going down the shitter as of recent, there will probably be an influx of Texas kids that will grow up to be A&M fans. This will ultimately result in A&M taking "market share", if you will, from the Longhorns...

If Florida isn't the best job in the country it is in the top two or three.

Going forward, just know that unless the other job being compared is Bama, USC, or Texas, the answer is always Florida.

Not a knock against A&M or anything but Florida easily. They are one of the top 5 programs in the nation and have multiple national championships. The only thing they really lack in comparison to A&M is fan loyalty

What Florida lacks in quantity they make up for in quality. The 16 fans that traveled to watch Louisville bludgeon them in the Sugar Bowl are as loyal as any fans of any team.
