Stings quite a bit. Also, Millsap is deciding between us and Orlando. I just don't see PM as a max player but we can't lose him and DC. I just don't know what we are going to do about the SF position.

We also aquired Tiago Splitter.

You never want to trade with San Antonio.

We knew shite would fall apart when the Hawks tucked tail on Danny Ferry. Oh well, back to the 8 seed and an early exit from the playoffs

Rumor is we're doing a sign-and-trade with Orlando between Millsap and Tobias Harris.

Orlando drafted Herzonja because they're not planning to offer Harris a max contract. Harris and Coach Skiles do not get along, apparently.

IF this actually happens, our lineup would look like this:

PG: Teague/Schroeder
SG: Korver/Hardaway/Mack
SF: Harris/Sefolosha/Bazemore
PF: Horford/Muscala/Scott
C: Splitter/Horford/Tavares

Supposedly Tavares is done in Europe and joining the team finally. He has been playing with the Hawks summer team for the summer league and this is why we've let Elton Brand go along with Pero.

There's a chance we pick up another center somewhere too. IF we do the Harris/Millsap deal, this will free up another $4M, which will put us about $9M under the cap still.

Do we really want to pay a player $15 million/year who finished 113th in the NBA in player efficiency (PER)? You know who had a higher PER? Chris Kaman, Jordan Clarkson, Carlos Boozer, Mike Muscala, Cole Aldrich, the list goes on. On paper, it looks like a stinger, but long-term the Hawks win.

If you normalized numbers, he ranked as the 54th best player in the NBA, just behind Dwight Howard and Dirk Nowitzki.

He is dispensable. Put Splitter at C, Howard at PF and spend the money on a SG or SF. The Hawks could’ve blown their wad, but their approach is the correct one. I’m a fan of Millsap, in fact I think he is the most underrated player in the NBA. BUT, the Hawks need to keep their options open for future FA classes. 60 wins is a huge accomplishment, but this team isn’t built for the playoffs. Sign Paul Pierce and go get a defensive minded SG (Corey Brewer or Shumpert). Have Korver come off the bench, and this team is better than last year.
